happening. this is the house that went up in flames tonight. montgomery county fire and rescue making sure this fire is completely out. neighbors have gathered, just stunned about what happened on the eve of the holiday. let share with you cell phone video who took by the neighbors. many describing a plume of smoke they could see rising above the neighborhood. just very concerning. a lot of people are home for the holiday and were able to come out and see this happen. montgomery county fire and rescue is selling us this involved a backyard grill. let look at chopper 4 video. the grill was on the back deck. most of the damage is toward the back of the house. they are saying this is a propane grill that someone may have been using charcoal in the propane grill which is very

we saw a photograph of one person trying to help put the fire out with the help of a garden hose but the flames were too intense. >> it was half engulfed. the backside looked like it was burst into flames. there was popping and crackling. >> it's sad because the persons are out tonight. and could be worse. but at least we're okay. it's material. we can replace it. and i hope we can help the neighbors. >> there was a mishap with a gri grill. the deck did eventually collapse. pretty extensive damage and a dozen people displaced. >> montgomery county fire and rescue officials are stressing the importance of grilling safety. a lot of people will be grilling in their backyards this holiday. follow your directions you are supposed to follow. do not use charcoal

grounds and he told police he is hiv positive. jackie benson has new reaction from charles county parish tonight. >> this morning my daughter caes came screaming down the steps, one of my teachers was molesting children. what? >> reporter: shock and frustration at learning of the arrest of a 30-year-old public school aide carlos bell. he is charged with crimes that violated children at an unspeakable level, showing him graphically sexually assaulting them. bell had been a teacher's aid at this middle school in waldorf until he was removed in december after a parent recorded inappropriate texts. a six-month investigation discovered the pornography involving at least 10

d.c.'s independence day parade tomorrow. but now he is behind bars. he sexually assaulted a housekeeper yesterday. he is from bahrain. sources say he was supposed to march with the police unit. not clear what his role is with bahrain police. sources say he is not a diplomat and he's in jail tonight with no bond. the lawyer for a maryland woman accused of killing her husband said she had no reason to do it and there's no smoking gun prove she is guilty. she was arrested on friday and is charged with killing her husband, scott horn back in march. horn was a retired special agent with the fbi. the couple were estranged and horn was found shot to death in his backyard. detectiveswe

maryland is joining the list of states saying no to the commission on election integrity. maryland's attorney general says the state is prohibits by law from sharing personal voter information that the commission asked for including addresses, voting history and the last four digits of social security numbers. virginia and delaware also refused. west virginia is waiting for the formal request but won't give out social security information. a special honor for two capital police officers hailed as heroes during the congressional baseball shooting last month. the d.c. society sons of the american revolution will present special agents crystal griner and david bailey with its law enforcement co. commendation. they were part of the security detail for steve scalise and

tonight we are learning that the injured bald eagle in is likely from the d.c. police academy. a wildlife biologist said it's likely the male of the pair, justice because of its weight and tall loon size. the bird is in good body condition and eating well. the eagle is going to another facility for further test and care before returning home. >> just needs a good comb out or brush. >> a buff and a fluff. i hope he's okay. it weighs 2,000 pounds and has been missing for decades. >> the d.c. council is asking for your help to find a replica of the liberty bell. >> philadelphia of course

future weather tomorrow, 7:00 a.m. we're dry and have plenty of sunshine around. clouds increase throughout the day. around noon it's still dry. in the afternoon hours, 3:00, 4:00, a chance for rain across the area. this is just showing you that the chance is there, including in the district. but i do think if you are heading to the mall for the fireworks at 9:00 p.m. getting underway just after 9:00, it will be dry down there. i think the best chance looks to be north and west of town. loudoun, northern montgomery, friday ri frederick, washington counties. here's what you can expect for severe weather. it's not there at all. the biggest concern would be heavy rainfall and any storms that we see develop. aside from that it's garden variety showers. 7:00 a.m., it's mild, 76
