we now know the fourth month old identity. and a bombshell from the "the new york times" says the trump campaign was looking for dirt from the russians on hillary clinton. that breaks news a shooting and then a run to a nearby restaurant for help. prince george's county police say two men are dead. so, derrick, tell us about the scene there and what police have told you tonight. >> reporter: well, let me tell you exactly where we are. we're in the 400 block of silver hill road in suitland. take a look. you can see there's a pop eyes at the end of the strip mall. there's a pawnshop and then a cleaners and a nail salon. police believe the shooting happened in that space between the cleaners and the pawnshop. it was about 7:30 when

say they got multiple calls and reports of gunfire and a shooting. and there were officers nearby, so they got here quickly. >> they discovered two adult male victims who were both suffering from gunshot wounds. both of our officers did deploy their trauma kits, which we have in an attempt to render aid to the victims. one of the victims were prenounced dead here on-the-scene. and another victim was trance ported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. >> reporter: there was no identity yet on either of these victims. it turns out one of the victims made his way to that popeyes to try to get help. that's where police and paramedics found him. the other victim was between those two buildings where they believe the shooting happened. this is still under investigation. no suspect or additional

>> hey, derrick, before we let you go, can i ask you about any information you might have about what led to the shooting, what happened before that? >> reporter: well, that's one of the things investigators say they will be looking at. what could help them is like businesses like this pawnshop and other businesses that you see here often have surveillance cameras around. they'll be looking at the cameras at the federal facility, always with cameras. at this point there's a lot they don't know, and they're still trying to piece this together. they've been holding the scene since about 7:30 this evening. >> thank you, d. now, we want to go to a growing story. the all clear just has been given after a suspicious suitcase was found here inwhite house. they responded to the scene, and

line of the white house and from 15th street as well as lafayette park. it was declared safe, and everything is back open tonight. new details now about a baby's death. montgomery county police say the fourth-month old was a little girl. the girl's family called police this morning saying she wasn't breathing. investigators say before she died the girl was with family members in a van at a motel 6 in gaithersburg. we're told the family was possibly living inside the van. the girl's body is on its way to medical examiner in baltimore. an autopsy will likely help investigators find out how she died. "the times" today reporting that donald trump, jr. was promised damaging

meeting with a kremlin connected russian lawyer at trump tower in june of 2016. the paper says news of the meeting represented the first public indication that members of the 2016 trump campaign were willing to accept russian help. in a statement trump junior confirmed the meeting but said his father didn't know anything about it. political observers were stunned at the admission. chuck todd tweeted it was, quote, jaw dropping. and as nbc's kelly o'donald shows us tonight at 11:00, the president's own tweets about putin and russia are also causing concerns. >> reporter: president's trump's new relationship with vladimir putin face-to-face at the g-20 laid out in a first person account on twitter. i strongly pressed president putin twice about russian meddling in our u.s. election.

a more pointed recount by the chief of it staff. >> reporter: president trump says he wants to move bebeyond the russian interference controversy and partner with russia over a bold idea that's drawing skepticism and durision. putin and i des discussed forming an impenetrable cyber security unit so other things would be guarded. a dubious senator john mccain. >> i'm sure he'd be of enormous assistance in that effort since he's doing the hacking. >> it's about making sure we have enormous capabilities to help fight cyber together. >> reporter: but senator marco rubio's reaction is cutting. tweeting partnering with putin on a cyber security unit is like partnering with assad on a chemical weapons unit.

and now investigators saying the fire was inaengzally set. they called in a fire sniffing dog, and the family saying they feel blessed they made it out alive. >> it was a big light, and a neighbor in the street saying call the fire department because the porch is on fire. i ran back in the house to get my kids out. and just said everybody get out, get out. >> fire investigators believe something was used on the front porch of the house to start the fire. a saturday night party to reveal the gender of a pregnant woman's child ended in gunfire. two armed gunman entered the home near cincinnati killing the woman and wounding eight others including three kids. the mom to be is among the injured. everybody is expected to survive, but the gunman are still out there. police don't know if the

was targeted or what prompted the shooting. they say the woman had just revealed she was having a baby boy before the shooting started. now we want to go to a shooting at a denny's restaurant in maryland. state police say the shooting started early this morning as a crowd formed. we're told when an off-duty trooper approached the crowd, somebody shot at the trooper multiple times. state police say the trooper shot back. it's not clear if the trooper killed another man in the crowd or someone shot him. breaking tonight at 11:00, flames tear through a popular tourist spot in london. we're working to learn of any possible injuries this hour. british lawmakers working this hour to help a terminally ill

breaking right now authorities are trying to figure out if there were any injuries after a popular london destination went up in flames. we're talking about camden market. a raging fire broke out tonight. more than 70 firefighters sfnded to the scene. look at those flames. right now there's no word on a cause yet. definitely something we'll be keeping on eye on. meanwhile, dozens of large fires and a heat wave making dangerous conditions. tens of thousands of people don't have power, and that means there's no way to keep their houses cool. and the fires are destroying land and homes all the way up to canada. >> reporter: from california to canada, wildfires are sweeping across the west. the flames fueled by searing temperatures. near santa barbara the whittier fire has burned more than
