patrols in prince george's county, police are in the area. and we know they will be longer than usual. as you mention in the wake of 12 deaths in the first 11 days of july, the chief announced 12 hour patrols for the prince george's county police department. it will be the new normal until further notice. he's also asking the public to report anything suspicious and to walk away from any potential violent incidents. he also spoke with commander about changes last week, calls it less of a reaction, more of an evolving response to the threat of violence which he says cannot only jeopardize safety of citizens but first responders as well. >> i decided this was the appropriate time because we are essentially even. what i didn't want is the community to lose confidence in this institution, when we see

night not far from 8th street corridor. the one-year-old boy was in a stroller, group of men got in an argument and started shooting. police are close to making three arrests. prosecutors expected to rest their case in the murder trial of former fairfax county park authority employee accused of stabbing a wedding caterer to death. hampton bond accused of stabbing him to death in august at a park. he says it was self defense, reported that encounter on a cell phone. the defense argues bond was threatened. the prosecution and john's friend say they don't buy that argument. learning new details about the amtrak crash that killed two csx workers. ntsb released a preliminary report on the

the ntsb says the workers had just finished inspecting a rail car and were walking back to the front of the train. the train tracks narrow and that's when they were hit. ntsb says because of the way the tracks are set up, the workers had no way to escape. this morning, disappointed leaders in prince george's county urge the trump administration to reconsider plans to move the fbi headquarters, or plans not to move the headquarters. the gsa says it doesn't have enough money to move the agency out of the deteriorating building. this news hit prince george's county county hard because the government was considering two potential spots in that county, landover mall and spot near the metro station. people that live there say it was more than just a building. >> thought we were turning the corner, still think we are. it is
