the dump truck driver accused of hitting pedestrians in two separate crashes. >> can you explain to me why you left the scene of the accident? >> 62 year old alvarez didn't respond to our pat collins. alvarez was in court today to face hit and run charges stemming from a crash on florida avenue back in november of 2015. police tell us he drove his fort myers construction dump truck through a crosswalk, hitting either an zimmerman. zimmerman suffered brain damage and broken bones then two weeks ago alvarez was behind the wheel of another fort myers dump truck when he hit bianca butler. butler is still recovering in the hospital tonight. that case still under investigation. today a judge ordered alvarez not to drive any commercial vehicles for at least a month until his next hearing. >> two people's lives have been changed because of the actions and we'rey

a month there will be no commercial license for mr. alvarez. >> fort myers construction tells news 4 alvarez is not currently a driver for the company. >> fairfax county police are searching for a maintenance man who allegedly hid a camera inside an apartment bathroom. it happened at the julian at fair lakes apartments. he left behind the device after doing some work in the victim's apartment. he told her it was monitoring equipment and that she should shower to ensure the water would not affect the electrical system. that's when the victim called police. investigators discovered it's really a motion activated hidden camera. they found more images of potential victims in the building, but now police say he may have left the country. >> new at 11:00 tonight, justice for the family of a transgender woman from montgomery. today rico la blonde was convicted of first degree murder. prosecutors say back in october of

smith who went by the name zela zeona. this case went to mistrial when it first went to court in january. now he faces life in prison. sentencing is set for october. ava father says there's nothing that will take away the pain of losing his youngest son. not even the arrest today of three teenagers for murder. >> i feel sorry for them. i feel sorry for their families who have to go endure a lot of pain like we did. >> prince georges county police found dustin cory shot inside his car a week ago today. investigators say it happened after some kind of illegal transaction on larch dale road. his thankful for the quick police work and he hopes the arrest spreads the message that murder suspects will be brought to justice. >> today a federal

blocked a d.c. gun law that makes it difficult for gun owners to get concealed carry permits. the three-judge panel ruled the law requiring people to show a proper reason to carry a weapon infringed on second amendment rights. under the law it might include a personal threat or a job that requires a person to carry or protect cash or valuables. the district will appeal the ruling and tonight the mayor says, quote, the district's good reason requirement is similar to the concealed carry requirements in other states and for now it remains in effect. >> once again back here at the live desk we've got some new developments to report in the health care debate and fight. the republican plan to repeal and replace the affordable care act is now off the table, at least for now. it needed 60 votes to pass in the senate tonight as a procedural issue because the congressional budget office had yet to score this particular version of the bill. but the gop did not have the 60 votes they needed.

in two montgomery county at lake need wood and lake frank. both inside of the rock creek regional park. we are told the chemical comes from blue green algae in the lake. it can be bad for people and animals. they are especially worried about off-leash dogs who drink lake water. >> the coast guard says boaters and fisherman can continue to use the potomac river near president trump's virginia golf course. for safety reasons a two mile section of the water has been off limits when the president is visiting the property, but they complained the restrictions are unreasonable. the coast guard said they need to stay on the maryland side and only when the president is there. >> officials tell us tonight they have completed house to house searches after a tornado touched down in queen ann's county. only one minor injury was reported yesterday after that storm touched down in stevensville here.

the national weather service says that tornado packed power has been restored to most residents, but the clean-up effort as you can see continues. it's going to take awhile for folks. >> that looks awful. we are in a lot better shape today than we were when that happened a. >> exactly. quiet weather in the forecast today. more quiet weather in the forecast for tomorrow. if you want blue skies, 90 degree temperatures and the humidity making it feel like 105, tomorrow is not going to be your day. if you want a refreshing wednesday, then you're going to love the forecast for tomorrow. that is your first weather headline. some storms are in the forecast later in the day thursday, and possible at times really throughout the day on friday. as you're making plans for later in the week, you do want to keep that in mind. friday might be an indoor day with the kids. for the weekend it's looking mainly dry especially on sunday and overall really nice. but wait until you see the high temperature on saturday. i think it's going to come as a shock for this time of year. currently temperatures in the suburbs in the 60s.

75 degrees right now in washington. a.m. do this a lot but i thought it was worth taking the time to explain why we'll see cloudiness tomorrow. we're going to have winds out of the northeast. what that means is there are they're going to be passing over the water, over the ocean, over the bay and that is going to set up a marine layer in our area, especially around washington in areas off to the east. we're going to see the most cloudiness around the midday hours. as you can see on future weather at 6:00 a.m., isolated showers as well. i think this is a little over done, but you do get the point. there is a small chance. 9:00 a.m. still seeing that small chance, but knots most of the area is dry and the closer you are to the mountains, the more sunshine you'll have. but with that cloudiness, that is going to help to contribute to our refreshing wednesday. so, here's your hourly planner. 7:00 a.m., small chance for that isolated shower. otherwise more clouds than sun. 70 degrees at that point, 60s in the suburbs. pleasant at lunchtime tomorrow, 79, it's not too humid. 83 for a high tomorrow.

very similar to wednesday evening looking really nice. 80 degrees at that point. so, if you're taking the kids to the pool tomorrow, it is going to be on the cool side when they're getting out of the water so you want to keep that in mind. i don't say that a lot, i have not said that one time this year. thursday, some late day thunderstorms so probably plan for an earlier pool time or earlier playground time. and then friday, again there you see that chance for some scattered thunderstorms in the forecast. but the commute, lunch outside, overall exercise and nationals game tomorrow looking just fine as far as the weather is concerned. take a look here at the next ten days. on thursday we do warm back up. 90 degrees for a high on thursday. there you see that chance for some late day thunderstorms, storms on thursday and friday as well. could be on the strong to severe side. the biggest concern i'm seeing would be some heavy storms, heavy rainfall and storms and the storms would be slow moving, guys. that's going to potentially lead to some flash flooding. for the weekend, 77 on saturday.
