time to come. three members of thp family are missing. we are posting these on twitter and facebook so you can share them with your communities as well. courtney ash was last seen leaving a relative's home in ash bun on friday night. she was supposed to bring them to another relative's house in leesburg. they're likely in a blue ford taurus with tags 9844. it has been a rough and violent weekend in the district. two people are dead and eight people are hurt in seven separate shootings. news 4's darcy spencer has three things to share. she tells us about the victims, the action plan from police and their desperate plea for help. >> reporter: a police officer

evidence in the dark. a canine searches the area and an officer takes pictures of the scene. this after a double shooting on clay place not far from minnesota avenue in northeast d.c. the victim, the ninth and tenth to be shot in less than 24 hours in the district. >> these are some of the challenges that we're here for. we have to continue to engage the community and put a squash to some of the issues happening. >> reporter: it started just before 10:00 saturday night. two of the shootings were fatal. one man died, a second critically injured on campus avenue northwest. a young man was also shot here on coral street in northeast. this time shots rang out in broad daylight. >> i was sitting in my house watching tv and i just heard gunshots. >> the shooting happened at 3:00 in the afternoon. the man was found in the yard area of an apartment complex while many were enjoying the

>> i got nervous because my son just went outside. i was concerned because kids play in that yard up there. >> peter new shum is concerned because of the harmless shootings. he asked for help in resolving gun crimes. this is how the chief says you can help. if you know of anyone with an illegal gun, you call in a tip and if it lead to an arrest, you can be eligible for a cash reward up to $2500. darcy spencer, "news4 today." also happening today, leesburg police are trying to calm parents nerves after an apparent abduction. there will be an hoa meeting to answer any questions about the incident that parents may have. a woman tried to convince a young goirl get in her car. when the girl

followed her for several blocks the girl said. the girl made it finally to her house and told her mom what happened. there was an attempted kidnapping last week in the woodbridge area. turning our attention to politics this morning. the white house now hoping for a fresh start today. a clean slate with secretary john kelly beginning his first official day as chief of staff. reince priebus was ousted last week. jennifer johnson tells us that republicans hope that general kelly can bring some stability to the west wing. >> president trump having a saturday night dinner at his washington, d.c. hotel with incoming chief of staff general john kelly. insiders hope he brings order to a chaotic white house even over anthony scaramucci who openly and graphically criticized other cabinet members.

family can be an incredibly uncomfortable conversation, especially when you have conflicting perspectives. a consumer reporter susan hogan is working with you with ideas to make the talk easier. >> we've all been there. i get it. whether talking to your kids about making a budget or with your elderly parents, the conversation if you're not careful can go horribly wrong. >> seen it all. >> money issues plus family issues can be a destructive combination. >> if a recent survey, they asked people to rate how uncomfortable it is to have money conversations with family members. of those who have had these conversations, 29% say they were uncomfortable telling their parents it's time for someone to take over the managing of their finances. and 40% were uncomfortable telling their teenagers or adult children it's time to leave the

welcome back to scary moments in germany yesterday when 100 people here were stuck on the cable car system above the river. look at what they wept through. had to use a cherry picker or ladder to reach the stranded passengers. others were on to a boat in the river. no one was hurt. that's good news. the gondola ran into a support pillar and that's what caused everything sto stop. now to a great inspired story. one d.c. man found looking to the sky helped him with everything in his life. how the man found comfort in an animal known for preying on others. >> rodney stotts found an unexpected calling in birds of prey known as raptors. >> a
