same situation in newington. fairfax parkway at terminal road. a bit of an early slowdown. topside of the beltway, no real huge delays from 95. passing georgia avenue toward connecticut, traffic is moving just fine. back to you. jack, thank you. 6:02 now. breaking news in northeast washington. someone was shot this morning. they told you about all the violence that happened in the district over the weekend. >> this most recent shooting happened on pond street in northeast. molette green is there live this morning. molette? >> reporter: good morning everyone. we are focused in an alleyway here in the 4400 block of pond street northeast as you can see. officers in this alleyway. we just saw them using their flashlights. they brought out the canine unit. at one point there were about a dozen officers gathered in this area. we can tell you, we're not far from eastern avenue. about five minutes away from the shooting

street over the weekend. this alleyway is taped off. police have said shots rang out around 4:30 this morning shortly after that time and that one man is suffering nonlife-threatening injuries. but we want to make clear police are telling us that the injured man was not shot. this shooting you can see the markers there on the ground about six of them that we can count happened and is just the latest in a string of shootings that have happened in the district in as many days. but one man suffering nonlife-threatening injuries, but he was not shot this morning. we're still working to get more details on exactly what happened and what led up to this and a lookout for any suspects in this case. that is the latest now from northeast d.c. back to you. >> molette, thank you. coming up on four minutes after the hour. prosecutors are begging parents to talk with their kids

scandal at benjamin stoddard middle school. >> the number of cases has dublgd. the principal has been reassigned and there could be more cases. justin finch is live with more this morning. justin, good morning to you. >> reporter: eun, good morning. no doubt, there could be a painful process ahead for the victims and their families. especially those who have ties to stoddard middle school here. charles county investigators say as their investigation is expanding, the number of victims here could grow as well. right now, we have word of 24 victims identified. 11 have yet to come forward and 119 charges filed against carlos bell, who is the center of this ongoing sex assault and child porn probe. he's said to be hiv positive and was a track coach and school teacher's aide. he's accused of recording himself on cell es

washington app by searching protect kids. the school district is rolling out new classes for both students and teachers. 6:06 now. a loudoun county family is in mourning after a search for a mother, her son and his cousin ended in tragedy. the search began after courtney ash and the two missing boys were not found on friday. late yesterday afternoon, courtney's car was found overturned in a creek. the sheriff says the carca was driving in stormy weather when the car was found off of evergreen mills road in leesburg. officials say ash's body was ejected from the car. her son and 9-year-old cousin were found in the water. her mother says this is heartbreaking. >> it was raining really, really hard when they left here friday. i, again, ask myself why didn't you make them stay.

found that car yesterday afternoon. and the family says the young woman also has three other children, including a 2-month-old. prince william county police need your help finding this man, robert bruce graham ii left his home in bristow. that was around 2:00 yesterday afternoon. police believe he may need help. if you see him, please call police. we're working to learn why a woman lost control of her car and caused a deadly crash. this happened on 28th avenue in temple hills last night. prince george's county police say the driver was in a parking lot off of branch avenue and somehow lost control of her car. the car went into the road and hit another car with three people inside. they're all going to be okay. but the driver of the first car died. that person has not been identified. police want you to take a good look at the man wearing a white t-shirt i

back to you. jack, thank you. a death investigation is under way along ocean city's boardwalk. >> a woman's body was found on the beach near second street early yesterday near the famous ocean gallery, covered with art prints. the 30-year-old was from texas. that woman was discovered buried in the sand with just her forearm and hand exposed. many of you forced to cancel your summer trip to the outer banks want to know whether you'll get your money back. north carolina's governor hopes so but they haven't worked out the real legal ramifications. it may take up to two weeks to restore the power to ocracoke islands. a construction crew knocked out power to the two islands. at least 50,000 tourists had to evacuate. an inmate it on the run in alabama. we know how he and 11 others managed to escape. >> all itoo

trump campaign slogan ended with assault charges for a man in d.c. you've seen this before. the hat said make america great again. it happened outside the grill fish restaurant in northwest. now, a florida man is charged with three counts of assault. one of the victims says after some comments were made inside the restaurant, things turned violent later. that suspect, lewis trav owe so has been released from police custody. he tells news 4 that he acted in self-defense and that the incident was terrifying. 6:34 dmnow. several montgomery firefighters are requesting protective orders against a fellow firefighter. this stems from an argument over a confederate flag license plate at the bethesda fire station. according to court documents, he saw the plates on a pickup truck belonging to charles lee. he reportedly called lee a racist. during a fight, he threatened lee saying he had a lot of guns. he told news 4 he did not threaten anyone.

>> reporter: aaron, good morning. until last december, carlos bell was a charles county school's aide with a stint here at stoddard middle school. several months later a tough conversation with parents and their children. it is a tough talk that could lead investigators to the 11 victims they are working to identify here. at this point, we have 24 victims who have been counted but more than half have not yet come forward. 119 charges now filed against bell in this ongoing sex assault and child porn probe. 30-year-old bell is said to be hiv positive and served as a former school aide and track coach here in charles county. he is accused of recording himself sexually assaulting middle school age boys, giving them marijuana and trying to transmit hiv. the charles county state's attorney says since bell's arrest last month, the investigation has only expanded. >> every time you interview a
