you? >> yeah, it bothers me a lot because, one, he put his son in jeopardy. now we have to wonder about what don jr.'s team will tell you about what he actually did. if he didn't know about the e-mail the statement may have fooled you. if you know about the e-mail with don jr. then it's a misleading statement. >> it sounds like the president was trying to cover up the truth about that meeting. >> if that's true then that was a bad decision by the president which will make us ask more questions. when you get caught in a lie about one thing it makes it hard to just say let the other stuff go. >> let me ask you about john kelly's first day on the job. he is a military guy, he knows what discipline smells and looks like. he wasted no time in go he get rid of a loose cannon in anthony scaramucci. do you feel confident that john kelly can bring discipline to the west wing. >> the marines can do almost anything. the marines have landed to the white house, he has a beach head, he is a' clearing

president trump. this will only work if president trump will empower him to continue to do what he's doing. >> and if he can install some discipline in the president himself. >> we are talking about healthcare and 40 other things in the same week. if you want to get healthcare passed you have to have a laser like focus. i have a bill that would block grant all obamacare money back to the states, it's never been presented to the senate. the president has to work with the z tgovernors, we should loo outside of washington to fix obamacare, it was a mistake by republicans not to do that, but for this to work, president mr. president, you have to listen to the governors, work with a group of us in the senate and stay on message for round two of healthcare. >> senator graham you have been an outspoken critic obviously of the president. as we just heard senator flake and i will repeat what he said in the piece, he said of trump we created him and now we are rationalizing him, when will it stop? what do you think the president could do starting today to regain your confidence?

general kelly in charge really helps, focusing on healthcare. can he make it between now and september 30th focus like a laser on trying to rally the congress, working with governors of both parties to come up with a new way to deliver healthcare. discipline is what i'm looking for. we didn't create him. the american people chose him. i like jeff flake, he is a good guy, but he beat me and 16 other republicans and the former secretary of state. we should honor his win, but he has an obligation to be president for all of us and to stop the chaos. ñ and no one else. >> do you feel that he'svpñ damd the office of the president, just the credibility of the office over the last six months? >> i think he's done some things that most -- that to me are unpresidential but it's not hopeless. if you can pass healthcare to get money and power closer to the patient, away from

effectiveness deal with north korea, his presidency can still be very consequential, but general kelly was probably the best choice available to him. he is a good man. listen to him. >> with all due respect you didn't quite answer his question. do you think to date in the last six months he has damaged the credibility of the office of the presidency? >> i don't -- a lot of people thought obama had. it's in the eyes of the beholder. rather than me critiquing the office of the president, why don't i do this, not empower him when he does dangerous things. we are not going to change the rules of the senate because he tells us to. we're not going to deal out our democratic colleagues. for 200 years the minority has had a voice in the senate. i don't want to become the house. i've been in the house, i love t but i'm not going to change 200 years of history because donald trump is mad. at the end of the day we rebukd him when it7

push back against donald trump. i will call him out when i think he's saying things bad for the country. i have an obligation to work with him. fell help me and others deliver a new form of healthcare i need to help him. he is our president, by the way. >> on the subject of north korea the president has said we will handle north korea, we will be able to handle them, it will be handled. in your opinion over the next year is it more likely that there is some sort of military conflict on the korean peninsula, whether that's a surgical strike or something larger, or is it more likely that north korea will cement its place as a nuclear threat in the world? >> well, this is the ultimate question. i know it's early in the morning, but president trump has said i will not allow them to get an icbm with a nuclear weapon on top to hit america. they're headed that way. the only way they're going to change if they believe there is a credible threat of military force on the table. the chinese are miscalculating trump and so are the north koreans. he has to choose between

stability. japan, south korea, china would all be in the cross hairs of a war if we started one with north korea, but if they get a missile they can hit california, maybe other parts of america. >> every military expert says there is no good military option. >> they're wrong. there is a military option, to destroy north korea's program and north korea itself. he's not going to allow president trump the ability of this madman to have a missile to hit america. if there's going to be ao be wa to stop them, it will be over there. if thousand die, they will die over there. that may be provocative but not really. when you're president of the united states, where is your allegiance lie? to the people of the united states. this man, kim jong-un, is threatening america with a nuclear missile. president trump doesn't want a war. the chinese can stop this. but to china, south korea and japan, donald trump is not going to allow -- >> are you saying it's okay to use a military optiont

by 10:45 it's tropical storm emily making land fall. top five fastest u.s. land falls in 30 years. it's continued to cross the florida peninsula, now it's a tropical depression, 50 miles north northeast of vero beach, moving quickly offshore and as it does it lessons its effects on the mainland, however, along the southeastern atlantic coast we are looking at rip current threats and high waves into the midweek period. in the meantime not all that bad, the heavy rain is done, a although there is heavier rain down along the southern florida peninsula, but that's due to a cold front, nothing to do with emily. now to the search for the lone escapee who remains on the run after a brazen jail break in alabama. in all 12 inmates escaped, now we're learning they used peanut butter to break free. gabe gutierrez explains. >> reporter: this morning a manhunt is u

brady kill patrick, the last of a dozen inmates still on the run in alabama after a bold escape on sunday night. >> changing some numbers on the door with me nut butter, that may sound crazy, but these people are crazy like a fox. >> reporter: that's right, peanut butter. investigators say the inmates busted out of the walker county jail northwest of birmingham by covering the number on a cell door using peanut butter and tricking a guard into opening an exit door instead. the prisoners 18 to 30 years old, charges ranging from disorderly conduct to attempted murder, most caught within hours, but police say kil patrick is still on the loose, keeping residents in jasper, alabama, on edge. >> it kind of strikes a nerve. >> reporter: as authorities investigate how one group of prisoners pulled off a baffling jail break. >> it was a

cyber hacks claim to have a script and document from the hit show's final season. hbo not commenting on what was stolen or the hackers' demands. but confirms to nbc news, proprietary information was compromised. in a letter to employees, the network's chairman writes, any intrusion of this nature is obviously disruptive, sunsettlig and disturbing for all of us. the fbi tells nbc news, the agency does not support businesses paying up. saying, paying ransom cannot only embolden those demanding it, it perpetuates the ak ctivit activity. this season, the fifth season of "orange is the new black" was hacked and leaked online. and a major hack at sony revealed embarrassing e-mails and

doctors are starting to switch their mindset. we want to get rid of pain. now, we're starting to say, we might not get rid of pain. we want to get rid of suffering. as long as you can do the things you want to do. that's the important part here. that's the goal of the medication, to get the suffering down, so people can do the things they need to or want to do, realizing there's a risk behind the medication. that's the overdose levels right now. >> why are these things so addicting? >> the medications are extremely addictive. for some people, it can be a few pills, a few doses. we don't know until they start taking it. >> it's important to be educated. >> what i do to patients all the time, is i talk to them about the goals behind treatment. and the goals should be short-term dosage. we shouldn't treat for more than three days and switch to other things. prescriptions are tracked every
