firefighters who is accused of making those threats. he's live in bethesda with what he had to say, pat. >> reporter: wendy, you might call this the battle of the bethesda fire house. tonight we're hearing from the man right in the middle of it. >> i chose this battle. i'm going to speak and i am going to see it as far as it goes. >> he's 38 years old. he's been a montgomery county firefighter for 12 years. he's at the center of a confederate flag conflict that had four firefighters going to court to try to get protective orders. july 19th, edris saw a confederate flag shaped like a license plate owned by a firefighter, a truck that was parked in the lot. edris got angry and he let the other firefighters know about it. >> i spoke my mind in a controlled

quoted an investigator working on the case because that's what the president wanted. it also accuses fox and the president of pushing the conspiracy theory to help lift the cloud of the russia investigation. chris lawrence is in our newsroom with a response from both sides now, chris. >> yeah, pat. rod wheeler filed this lawsuit. he's the investigator who looked into seth rich's murder last year it appeared frequently on fox news. it was there we heard a conspiracy theory that suggested rich took e-mails from the democratic national committee and leaked them to wiki leaks. they say he intentionally misquoted him in a story that suggested he discovered a link. it alleged that president trump had an advanced copy of that fox story and pushed fox to pubbish it as is with the false quotes. today at the press briefing, huckabee said the white house had nothing to do with it. >> the president had no knowledge of the story and it's

white house involvement in the story and beyond that, this is on going litigation and i'd refer you to the actual parties involved which aren't the white house. >> the dnc also put out a statement saying there is no excuse for the suffering that trump's associates and conspirators at fox have caused the rich family and those closest to them. both parties should denounce these sick and twisted tactics. fox publiced the story on its web site and pulled a week later. it was not suggested to the high degree of editorial scrutiny they require. they think the murder was result of botched robbery. wendy. senate republicans couldn't agree on a way to repeal and replace obama care. now they're contemplating a totally different approach. work together with the democrats to figure it out. number two senate republican john cronin of texas is calling on democrats to come up with

ideas of their own to fix health care, adding that he believes bipartisan solutions could "tend to be more durable." minority leader chuck schumer agrees that obama care is not perfect and does need improvement, but says democratic improvement -- and said they will be willing to work with republicans. the white house says the president will make a decision this week about whether to stop billions of dollars in government payments to insurers, payments used to reduce copays and deductibles for low income americans. senate republicans are urging him to hold off on that for a few months to buy congress a little more time. stopping the payments would essentially force the collapse of obama care. if that happens, insurance premiums would skyrocket. a move today to decriminalize pot, new jersey senator corey booker introduced a bill that will legalize marijuana at the federal level. it doesn't stop there. people already in federal prison serving time for

it wasn't until this summer that the child came forward with these allegations. northern virginia bureau chief was word that this investigation is not over yet, jewels. >> oak grove baptist church. they run a summer camp over eight different weeks. when the latest session started yesterday. parents were greeted with troubling news that a former volunteer camp counselor had sent photos and solicited sex from a child at the camp. it's a camp that promises learning and summer fun, but now parents who bring their kids to oak grove baptist summer program are forced to have some difficult conversations with their children. these court documents lay out the case against former c

snap chat to send lewd photos to a camper, boy under age of 15 and requested sex from him. the communication took place last year after camp ended. but when the child returned to camp this summer and found he was once again a counselor, he revealed what had allegedly happened. >> the fact that he came back to be part of the camp this summer, i think, what prompted the concern about that, is i guess one of the children ended up communicating with an adult about the situation. >> herns who is now 9 is no longer working at the camp, the camp director declined on camera interviews they say all families at the camp and oak grove congregation had been notified. the investigation is still on going and as a church family, we are praying for all the families involved. sheriff's office worried there could be other victims. >> if there's anybody else who may be a victim here, we certainly want to know. we're in the prs

earnst told the judge he was trying to hire his own attorney. his bond hearing was delayed until next week. last month he shot a woman after confrontation on theizen haur connecter. the woman who was shot is expected to be okay. ocean city police are trying to figure out how the body of that texas woman ended up buried in the sand on the beach in their city. while police say the death doesn't appear to be suspicious, they aren't ruling anything out. news 4 mark seagrave is in our newsroom with what might have happened. >> the victim has now been identified as a 30-year-old from plano texas who was vacationing at the beach with her mother and stepfather. according to one ocean city official, the woman was last seen by her family about 2:00 in the morning. it was about 6:30 monday morning, someone flagged down an ocean city government employee and told them they found a body in the sand,

seen from the surface was an arm. the spokesperson at the ocean city police department tells news 4 about the same time that that call came in for the body, the victim's parents were at a police station to report their daughter was missing. police say the death does not appear to be suspicious. in a phone interview, we asked ocean city police if it's possible the woman was asleep or unconscious on the beach and was accidentally run over by one of the large tractors that raked debris off the beaches every night. >> that is a possibility. we're not ruling that out. but, again, we can't make any final determinations until the investigation is a little bit further along. >> now police would not say whether there was any sign of trauma on the body. they are waiting for the autopsy results to determine the cause of the death. in the newsroom, mark seagraves, news 4. the district is spending millions to help you get around town on dozens of new circulator

according to a new study, women whose body mass index increases slightly between pregnancies have doubled the risk of developing gestational diabetes. it's a form of high blood sugar diagnosed during pregnancy that can cause complications for both mother and baby. experts say these mothers should have their glucose tested during pregnancy. gum disease may increase the risk of certain types of cancer in older women. according to a study, scientists there followed over 65,000 post menopausal women for eight years. those with a history of per don'tal disease they had a higher risk of developing cancers of the esophagus, the lung and the breast. plak or blood may carry the bacteria to other parts of the body and contribute to the

cheerleader, gymnast, well liked at school. what could make her commit suicide. >> apparently nonstop bullying. girl from new jersey taking her own life. now family suing her school saying the school didn't do enough to help her. >> it made it feel like the world, keep in mind, that her world is 900 students at middle school. it made it feel like the world was against her. >> this could have been prevented, serves as a wake up call for all schools, signer bullying is happening every day and it has to be stopped. nbc jim maxwell reports. >> reporter: 12-year-old malorie was a cheerleader, gymnast, daughter, sister and friendly, tragically the middle school student took her own life in june after herxd family said sh was tormented online by other girls. other families we spoke to say, cruel comments on social media are a far bigger problem than face to face bullying. >> the group text

between kids about others and like comments on pictures and no one is really nice online, any more. >> in a statement, the family attorney says they will sue the rock away township district for gross negligence and failing to stop the cyber bullying of 12-year-old malorie grossman who committed suicide after months of relentless bullying by snap chat and text messages from several of her classmates. friends of the grossman family have started a go fund me page that has raised more than $75,000. they asked the school officials repeatedly for help to stop the bullying and they say the school did nothing. malorie's mom was at copeland middle school asking for help on the day that her 12-year-old committed suicide. even elementary school students say it's a problem. >> there are a lot of people that like i've seen on instagram posts and stuff saying, like negative things about each other. i just hate it. >> the year before the grossm

the dry side, but the area that's coming down right now, right along i-95 right through parts of the beltway, these are the areas that are most impacted by the storm at this time of day, a lot of people leaving home are trying to get home from work. let's take a look outside our tower cam, you notice what's happening here, the rain continues to come down, i want to show you a different vantage point. this is from our national harbor camera. check this camera out. this storm -- this camera actually shows you the entire storm over the district, look at the rain shaft right here coming on down, we've seen a couple of bolts of lightning out of this, as well, as we've looked over the past half hour to hour as this storm continued to develop. now it has been developing, first you see the storm around the creek area and i-95 corridor really lighting up between baltimore, northern prince georges and down towards dc, that's where we have the strongest storm. we have one over buoy, look at this right over parts of northwest this is going to be between the beth
