left a firefighter fighting for his life. the accident happened at a fire at a row house on f street northeast. the communications officer for d.c. fire and ems temps us a 28-year-old firefighter was hit by a fire vehicle as he jumped off another vehicle. he is in the hospital in critical condition right now. we expect to get an update on his condition in about an hour. we have crews at both the hospital and fire scene. no one else was hurt and the fire is out. there was minimal damage to the neighboring homes. we are told the injured firefighter has only been with the department for a couple of months. also in northeast, firefighters were called to a house on buchanan street just after 12:30 this morning. four people were injured, including two d.c. police officers. the officers and one other person are expected to be okay. but another person is in serious condition. d.c. fire sayst

>> i have never seen that lady or those kids in that house. and that was before last summer because the grass was really tall. >> a nearby resident who asked not to be identified said the man seemed inat the present time on keeping people away from the home. >> when he said she was handicapped, i told my husband, i saw a lady walking but i've never seen her lifted. i thought he was living there by himself. >> the sheriff's office says deputies were called to the home saturday to check on the welfare of the family. they say moore was reluctant to allow them into the home. while speaking to him out front, a woman and two children, ages 8 and 11 ran out of the side door. the woman told deputies a shocking story that moore, who is believed to be the father of the children, had held them captive in the home, refusing to allow them to leave for two years. he's been charged

counts of abduction, felony assault and battery. >> real estate records show moore was not the owner of this home but it's not clear whether or not he was renting it. ? fredericksburg, jackie bensen, news 4. breaking news this morning. a second person found dead after a school explosion in minneapolis. we now know it was the school's janitor. crews pulled his body from the rubble last night. the other victim has been identified as ruth berg. she worked as the receptionist for 17 years. contractors working there caused a natural gas leak yechltd students and teachers incompetent side the school had seconds to get out before that blast. >> my daughter got up and was getting ready to leave out of the counselor's office and was blown back into the counselor's office by the explosion. it was seconds after they told everybody to get out that the explosion happened. >> seven people are still in

doctors say the injuries range from serious to critical. new overnight, d.c. fire crews also responded to a fiery two-car crash on irving street northwest. not far from the hospital center. one person is dead and another injured. fire crews say the car was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. they say the two victims were in the car that caught fire. no one in the other vehicle was hurt. a look at some things happening around town. remember that powerful tornado that ripped through stevensville, maryland, there's a meeting on the recovery process in queen anne's county. they can offer suggestion toss first responder agencies. the meeting gets under way at the elementary school tonight at 7:00.

rings off the hook with stupid robo calls. >> normally, i don't answer. >> one day, she did. >> there was someone on the other end and they said that this is not a debt collector. this is someone trying to lower your interest rates. >> the caller said she worked for edge care center services and told renee she would contact her credit card company for her to negotiate a lower rate. she put renee on hold. a few minutes later broke the bad news. they called capital one, they did call one of them to see if they would lower the interest rate. they denied it. but wait, the caller had something else to offer. >> but the something else was an additional card. >> that's right. another card. 0 poers interest rate for 14 months. >> i was like no. >> but the caller was persistent and not only convinced her to get the card and put her on a payment plan and
