among the districts, but if you take a look at the map you can see the distribution is even north and south but it did indeed keep police busy. what is so troubling about it is the number of them that happened over a relatively short period of time, about four hours. the first happened at 9:08, and a quarter of midnight there was another robbery, and in that case the suspect was on an orange scooter, and an hour later, a robby in the 1300 block of alabama avenue southeast, and 15 minutes later in the 200 block of newcomb street southeast, and then it ended at 1:37 in the morning. the interesting thing about this spate of robberies, the first and last, the one on pickford and one on corbin, there was

violence or force involved. and it could be resistance from the victim or the sudden snatching or seizure of property. and the only thing they have in common is it contributed to a busy night for cops and criminals. back to you. >> thank you. an elderly couple is in stable condition after being hit by a car after attending a funeral service. the 86-year-old man and the 83-year-old woman were hit yesterday afternoon in a church par kep parking lot on river road in bethesda. on the ground, a cane, shoes and a pair of glasses. people who live nearby say there's a lot of traffic in the area. >> you got to be careful, yeah, because it's a busy street here. this busy is a busy street but i was surprised it happened in the parking lot. people should be looking. but i don't know, i don't know what to say.

funeral for the church's former minister, and police towed away the car, and the driver did stay on scene. one officer that you see here in this picture is on desk duty and banned from having any interactions with the public. the officer was the arresting officer in a gun possession case, and the judge dismissed the case because of the t-shirt here. prince georges county police is searching for a suspect in a rare homicide case. a man was found dead on rhode island avenue near the mt. rainier public library. the small town is just across the d.c. line. police say it has been four and maybe even five years since they last investigated a homicide in mt. rainier. long-time residents are shocked and say their community is like a family.

where mt. rainier is. this community was like a family, we were all a family. >> the man's identity has not yet been released. more details this morning involving a deadly crash at a northeast d.c. gas station. we are told the driver of the crash is in custody and a passenger is dead. the driver hit a parked car and then ran away from the scene. officers eventually caught up with the driver. the crash was so powerful it took down a sign at the gas station there on florida avenue. police have not released any identities. the u.s. has called off a search and rescue mission for three u.s. marines. they went missing on saturday after their plane crashed off the coast of australia while trying to land. now this has turned into a recovery mission. military officials say the marines were in a aircraft like the one there that crashed on its final approach to an american aircraft carrier. there were 26 pe

next of kin have been notified. and then calling the bombing of a mosque an attack on their community. the fbi believes the blast was if an improvised explosive device and it caused a fire inside the imam's office. nobody was injured there. a motive of the bombing and whether or not it was a hate crime has not been yet determined. and then appear 72 hour cease-fire in baltimore stopped short with two killings. a man was killed around 5:00, and a 37-year-old man was shot before 10:00 last night. activist called for the cease-fire to last through sunday with the goal of ending a wave of violence in the city. before yesterday, the news reported 297 deaths in baltimore last

this is out there in middleburg. it's going to be a nice day out there today, and the good thing is, the winds are lighter. we have rain showers move into the area. humidity will move in as well on monday and then it will fall as we get into tuesday and wednesday. we are in the low 70s here in washington and also in annapolis. some areas in the low to mid-60s right now, so it's a cool morning, and it's going to be a warm afternoon. low to mid-80s for afternoon highs. clouds will increase today and we will get full sunshine as we head through the midday. i know we have cloud cover out there right now. you can see the cloud cover behind this, it's a live picture. if you want to head to the farm market, a great day to do that. beautiful for church services, and brunch, eat outside because it's not going to be too bad. forecast for tomorrow, not as

in florida collapsed after a sinkhole, it's growing and more homes have been condemned. right now officials are waiting for a geologist to determine if the sinkhole is active. cleanup was supposed to begin on friday but that was delayed when a section of the sinkhole collapsed on thursday. big changes could be coming to i-95. according to the news partners at wpot, there's testing in delaware and pennsylvania on a system that would charge drivers based on the numbers of miles traveled in addition to the gas tax. the gas tax will not provide the money needed for maintenance and repairs over the long term. the three-month pilot program is set to begin next year. fire investigators are working to learn what caused a barn to go up in flames completely destroying it. fi
