and 19 others were hurt. >> all are being treated at the hospital, including five people who have critical injuries they are dealing with. charlottesville police arrested this man, the man who was driving the car. he is 20 years old and from ohio and he is charged with murder and multiple other counts. it is video that is hard for lot of us to watch. we witnessed white nationalists and counter protesters taking to the streets. at some point you can see people wearing gas masks and some carrying flags and other nazi symbols. they came to protest the removal annual of a robert e. lee statue. >> it's not a proud day t

sides where they have a freedom of speech, but to turn to violence is not the way. >> police arrested three others. one man was from virginia and two others from out of state. their charges range from disorderly conduct and assault to carrying a concealed weapon. meantime, virginia state police are mourning the loss of two troopers that were helping out in charlottesville when their helicopter crashed. lieutenant cullen was 48 years old, and trooper bates was supposed to celebrate his 41st birthday today. and the investigation of what caused the helicopter to go down so far indicates no foul play. and then joining together in song and prayer. >> the virginia governor and lieutenant governor are joining

ward is also joining them on the message of hope the community is bringing. this is a community that is only beginning to heal. >> reporter: indeed. it has been quite a weekend of powerful images in charlottesville. the car driving through the protesters, and brawls in the street. that is not the charlottesville they know. we are inside the church now and the governor is starting to speak, and he is attending this service with the lieutenant governor. we are at the first african baptist church in charlottesville. one of the two churches the governor will be visiting today. a lot of people will be seeking solace in churches today. we talked to the city of charlottesville' sheriff before the service. >> it's tough. to see how folks still think and

far enough in condemning that. >> it's interesting. i think general mcmaster was playing cleanup, i guess, if you want to call it that. he put the words -- i said, are we going to hear those same words out of his mouth instead of yours, and he said he expect the president to address it again maybe today or tomorrow, and he made another distinction about it. he said it was a terrorists act yesterday, and there's legal definitions of it and he was careful to say, somebody else will decide if it meets the legal definition, but as far as he is concerned that's what took place, and this is going further than what the president went. >> back to you saying the president denouncing the bigotry and hatred, and we know president trump and we know when he wants to condemn somebody. he is very specific about who that somebody is and what

condemning them for, and here, yesterday in his remarks people said that lacked that specifics. >> i know he's not afraid to name check. mitch mcconnell knows he's not afraid to name check. the only people he seems to not name check are the white supremacists or vladimir putin, and that makes this a head scratcher a little bit and is creating more questions. it's going to create more tension inside the west wing with the steve bannon wing of this, and that was a big part of -- a little part of my discussion at the end of general mcmaster, and allies of steve bannon have been trying to get him fired believing he is not carrying out their agenda there. this whole mess here, this alt right business, i think, is really going to cause this west wing more problems if they don't figure out how to put more distance here, and
