run. they arrested him in woodbridge, virginia. they say gomez was wanted for the brutal murder of a man six years ago in new jersey. they say gomez murdered the man for socializing with a rival gang member. a bizarre story to tell you about now. d.c. firefighter responding to a call becomes the victim of an assault. this happened in broad daylight. a spokesperson for the fire department says four or five people at that house assaulted the firefighter. we're told he's got mostly cuts and scrapes. it was other fire rescue units that responded to the call that took him to the hospital. we've made numerous calls on this this evening and have not heard anything else about what led up to this. our coverage in charlottesville continues. how this weekend's tragedy is

it is a picture that has dominated social media over the last 24 hours following the deadly protests in charlottesville. ryan kelly a photographer for the charlottesville press took a photo. today newspapers featured the photograph prom independently on their front pages. we sent one of our photographers down to the museum today, and we saw that photo was also featured on newspapers across the country. miami, boston, mississippi, st. louis, charlotte, cleveland, dallas, many more. we highlighted those cities because each has dealt with tragedies like the one yesterday in charlottesville. tragedies involving hate, racial prejudice, mass shootings, police violence on unarmed young men of

as we head throughout tomorrow, these temperatures are going to rise back to the 80s. we'll also notice that humidity rising. as far as that commute goes, though, you should be fine. we're not looking at any rain chances during the pivotal hours in the morning or evening. i am tracking a small amount of rain chances we head through monday, but that's farther west. we'll be seeing light to moderate showers out towards the blue ridge there. for the rest of us, really just cloudy skies. through tuesday morning, i think that's our next best chance of seeing some isolated activity in the d.c. metro area. again, that will be early tuesday morning until about
