back to charlottesville to face three felony charges. meanwhile, the confederate statue at the center of that deadly rally is still causing controversy. yesterday a man with a gun tried to cut a tarp off the robert e. lee statue. crews put the tarp up earlier as a symbol of mourning for the woman killed in that rally. the man said it was desecration but stopped cutting when police arrived. the thomas stonewall jackson statue, also covered. a family from our area is hoping for the best, fearing the worst about their son serving in the navy. electronics technician second class kevin bushel serves on the u.s.s. john s. mccain. he's one of ten sailors missing after monday's collision with an oil tanker near singapore. we have more from his family. >> posted on the

mccain facebook page. an image that would make any family proud. electronics technician second class kevin beau shell on patrol in the east china sea. he joined the navy not long after graduation according to information provided by the family spokesman, travis day. the collision on monday between john mccain and an oil and chemical tanker tore a large hole in the side of the navy ship. officials have said they're looking into multiple possibilities as to what caused the crash. marine corps and navy divers joined in the search effort on tuesday and found some remains inside the mccain. when they accessed the compartment. his family issued a statement that says our family asks for privacy during this very difficult time as we continue to wait for further information from the u.s. navy. our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the other missing sailors. his mother karen is a

employee of montgomery county circuit court, currently serving as chief deputy. in gaithersburg, jackie bensen, news 4. we have learned that the remains found by the malaysian navy are not those of i u.s.s. mccain sailor. so far the bodies of five of the ten sailors have been identified. the search for the missing sailors continues this morning. it was only two months ago that seven sailors died off the coast of japan on the u.s.s. fitzgerald. two of those sailors were from there area. xavier martin was from baltimore county and gunner's mate sea man dakota rigsby was from palmyra, virginia. they're boast in the 7th fleet. the commander of the fleet has been relieved of duty. for your safety, you're ordered to evacuate the property. >> it's bp a tough 24 hours for people who

ever hit florida. this morning, we're keeping an eye on another storm in the gulf of mexico. harvey could impact texas this weekend. but it shouldn't impact our weekend too much. we want to head to sheena with the forecast and a look at that. sheena, i have so many friends and family members in that area. it sounds like this is headed there. bit concerning this morning. what are we looking at? what are we talking about? >> it's concerning erika, because of the rainfall alone. i think they'll see a lot of flooding in parts of southern texas. you're right, this weekend won't impact our weather. that's going to stay in texas. next weekend, labor day, unfortunately, that's when we're looking at it impacting us with the remnants of what harvey is. i'm going to show you that in a second. where it's heading the track of all that and the timing. for this morning, we have nice weather. feeling like fall, unseasonably cool weather patterns through the weekend and tropical storm harvey here for labor day

weekend could be giving us issues with our weather. i'll show you that again. 72 in washington. 61 in frederick. we have a lot of lows. 67 in clinton. 73 annapolis. feels really nice outside. here's that school day forecast i was promising you. by 7:00 a.m., it's going to be cool and crisp. 70 degrees through the afternoon. only around 80 degrees. in the gulf of mexico, there's tropical storm harvey. it has not moved on shore yet. it could briefly become a hurricane right before landfall and that's what would give parts of texas such high rainfall totals. locally, through this afternoon, there is the possibility for an isolated shower near the shenandoah valley or the higher elevations. we'll take a closer look at this one. then this thing after it stalls, that's going to be an issue, eventually makes its way into our area next weekend. labor day weekend, we're looking at rain chances.
