pay toappeared to be a frea accident. wtop is explaining what investigators are explaining about the death of ashley o'connor. >> that's right, guys. this is a really sad story we're know from ocean city investigators that the family of ashley o'connor who died on july 31st will likely never know what happened just before she suffocated in the sand on the ocean city beach. we're learned a few weeks ago from the medical examiner. today in a press conference, our own went down to ocean city and found out the investigators say there was no foul play here. investigators tell me there were no injuries to o'connor's body, meaning that any idea that people may have had that she perhaps was in a fight beforehand or maybe was hit by something, which forced her into the hole, that's been ruled

they say this truly was an accide learned there was alcohol in her system. the morning that she was walking on to the beach, seen walking on to the beach by herself, she had parted ways from her mother. they were at a bar enjoying themselves, she walked out on to the beach. she walked out there by herself. investigators say she climbed into the hole, that was pretty big. it was four feet wide in one direction, six feet wide in the other and three-and-a-half feet deep. the investigators believe she climbed in because she was found in a seated position and her home was extending out in the sand in an attempt to reach out for help when it caved in. the thing that we're don't know and investigators say we'll never know, how it caved in. or, perhaps, beachcomber came by and unsettled the ground and that's what caused it to cave in. you're not allowed to sleep on the beach

showers later this evening. most of us, though, on the dry side. man is it really starting to get its act together. take a look you can see, a little bit as it's getting closer to shore, here is corpus christi, has winds -- harvey winds of 85 miles an hour moving north-northwest at 10. pressure has been coming down, that means the storm is strength strengthening, look where it goes and comes on shore tomorrow night with winds of 125 miles an hour. that's a very strong category three hurricane. storm surge is going to be a major issue. the bigger issue here between car pus christy and houston is not going to be the wind, it is going to be the rain. it sits here, sunday, monday, tuesday, five days it could sit in this area giving them upwards of 20 to 30 inches of rain. take a look here is the rain fall forecast, 10 to 30 inches of rain. historic flooding could happen

the coach to be fired, others saying that the girl in the video is overreacting. nbc lucy talked to some of the cheerleaders seen in that video. shocking new video released over night by nbckusa shows teenagers crying out in pain. cheerleaders at denver's east high school are seen being pushed into splits over and over again. their arms and legs held down by teammates. the videos were recorded back in june during the first week of cheer camp, now denver police are investigating incidents involving multiple cheerleaders. ally wakefield an incoming freshman said she was forced by the recently hired cheer coach into this excruciating position. she's one of three cheerleaders and her mother who spoke exclusively with kusa. >> i didn't expect to have to do elevated splits a

coverage continues now with storm team 4, chief meteorologistist doug taking us through the path of this storm. >> this is the dangerous situation for the state of texas, this will be first time we're see a major hurricane hit the land fall. that was hur -- this storm making its way in around the corpus christi area, really gaining strength. i'm waiting right now for the latest advisory, comes out any minute. winds of 85 miles an hour, moving west northwest, actually the pressure has dropped. this may be the new advisory that just came in, it is strengthening, on this path, expect to become a category three, 125 mile an hour storm just south of corpus christi. making its way up to the north and i'm sorry for this, did not have a chance, this is brand new coming in across our region. this is the most important part here. here is houston. here is corpus christi. this is the storm, friday, saturday, sundand

such a huge impact on that area parts of southeast texas. let's talk about some of the texas impacts here, when i say major flooding, we're can see 20 to 30 inches of rain. some locations could see isolated areas of 40 inches. this is something we're saw with tropical storm allison back in 2001. $9 billion worth of damage around the houston area from tropical storm allison. that was only tropical storm. it's all about the rain. numerous homes lost. we're can be talking about thousands of homes lost because of the flooding in this scenario. then the power could be out for weeks. i saw one report saying we're could see upwards of 300,000 people without power and corpus christi up towards the houston area. so this is going to be a major storm system down into parts of texas, now, for us it is going to have an impact on us, next weekend, i think, it's something we'll have to keep our eyes

misleading, inaccurate, not entirely true, but with this president, people are starting to say, he lied. since the inauguration the washington post has been tracking what they call false or misleading claims. and the post says, president trump has surpassed a thousand lies so far. what you're looking at is a bar graph that represents all the claims from january through today. now, here is what i want you to take a look at, there have been some -- i want to call your attention to this spike, right there, right towards the end of july. the pulse reports that president trump made 29 false claims in just 26 hours. the report says that he averages about five misleading claims per day. in fact on august 15, mr. trump says his wine ri in charlottesville is one of the largest in the country. actually his sons owns it and it's not the largest one in rg

we're saw the fbi and paying a lot of attention here in the back of this yard and going in and out of this basement door of this temple hill's home. come to find out, fbi was primarily focused on credit card fraud. >> that black car right there, who is that agent right there, have been coming in here and sitting and watching. >> neighbors who did not want to be identified tell me they knew something was coming. fbi agents carried boxes and boxes out of one temple hill's home. the home was being rented by rodriguez norman. he's one of 11 people facing charges for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud. they raided homes, including this home on devin hills drive in fort washington. and this rented home on saint claire drive in temple hills. one neighbor and a few sources close to this investigation say dog fighting was also discovered at the temple hills home. the fbi won't confirm them, but dogs were taken from the house this
