out of a temple hills home in the 2,400 block of saint claire drive. the home was being rented by rodriguez norman. he's one of 12 people facing charges for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud. according to 77 -- norman his coconspirators stole credit card numbers off line, made fake cards and bought and sold illegal cigarettes. >> the fbi won't confirm that, but dogs weren't taken from the house this morning. >> oh my god, he had some beautiful animals. beautiful. it was -- it was a couple of pits, he was -- he bred these things here and they use them just like that. >> after hours in the temple hills home, agents left

of town. doug is here now tracking the hurricane and the impact it could have on our area next week, doug? >> yeah, guys, we're tracking that storm closely. it continues to strengthen. look at the last couple, look at the eye, very well defined now. the latest advisory bringing this very close to corpus christi by tomorrow. here is the advisory right now. latest advisory came out at 5:00, winds at 85 miles an hour. -- he's probably category 2, right now, it's the latest advisory. on this track, bringing it close to car pus christy as category 3 storm. winds at 125 miles an hour, here it is at 1:00. at 7:00 land fall around 7, 8:00, 9:00 tomorrow night south and east of houston around the corpus christi area. this is going to have a big impact on the state of

saturday, sunday, into monday. the wind, no longer a factor. this is a huge rain event, again, 20 to 30 inches of rain in some areas, we'll talk much more about this 6:00 hour. >> sounds ominous. thank you, doug. >> now back to the breaking news in south carolina. police there have a better idea about what motivated a man to shoot someone inside a restaurant in downtown charleston. chris lawrence is at the live desk. what are you finding out, chris. >> doreen, witnesses say he shot and killed the chef and told everyone else to leave. and officials now say, this is attack was personal. >> we're do know already at this point the shooter was a disgruntle employee. this is not an act of terrorism. this is not a hate crime. >> some of the local stations the man was a dishwasher at the restaurant. the shooting happened and about 30 people were eating at the time. witnesses say he walked

the gun and said something to the effect of, boss in town and told everyone to leave, after more than two hours the s.w.a.t. team broke in and shot him. and we're told he's been rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, again, all of this wint down a few blocks away from emanuel ame the church where white supremacist killed parishione parishioners. a maryland grandmother says tonight she's proud of her sailor, he's one of two young men from maryland, presumed dead after that navy destroyer collision this week, both sailors were on the uss john mccain on monday when it collided with an oil tanker near singapore. petty officer grew up in carol county. his grandmother, tonight, says the family is proud of that -- on a ship out to sea, vietnam and japan. the other sailor from our region as petty

up in montgomery county and graduated from high school. today, the navy called off its search mission. in three days of looking, dozens of military divers were only able to recover one of the missing sailors' bodies. the fleet's commander has been relieved of his duties. the navy is reviewing safety procedures now around the world. a confederate monument in fairfax is the latest target of vandleism. city officials sent us a picture. you can see somebody splashed white paint on to the base. the paint has been removed tonight. fairfax city's mayor says that crime doesn't reflect the values of the community. there are no suspects yet. >> now, to the shutdown show down between president trump and members of congress. they're fighting over funding for a border wall, a signature promise during the campaign. let's take you back. >> i will

>> and unprecedented number of people are calling president trump a liar and the numbers may back that claim up. leon harris has a closer look. >> we've heard politicians described as being misleading, inaccurate, not entirely true, but with this president, people are starting to say the word "liar." since the inauguration, the post has been tracking what they call false or misleading claims. the washington post says the president trump has surpassed 1,000 lies during his time in office. now, let me show you here a bar graft, this one represents all the claims from january through this month. there have been some lows. take a look at this spike here towards the end of july. the post reports that president trump made 29 false claims in just 26 hours. the report says, in fact, he's averaging nearly five misleading claims per day, more than 30 of those claims have been repeated ones. mike, he's talki

>> weather center tracking this monster storm that's about to come ashore in texas. what's the latest, doug. >> it's a monster, guys. you look at that picture and the one behind me right here. what i'm showing you, this is the satellite picture and infrared. take a look at it as we're look at the storm itself. the reason i'm showing you the picture, look what happens the last couple of frames here, you see a lot of high cloud and then

any time a hurricane forms an eye. and that's what's happening here. the eye starting to get very well developed, as well. the advisory at 5:00 came in with winds at 85 miles an hour. i would not be surprised if the 8:00 advisory has this over 90, could be close to 100 miles per hour as we're speak. moving to the north-northwest at 10 miles per hour, now on that track it will become category 3 hurricane. by 1:00 tomorrow afternoon, this is local time, so 2:00 our time. 125 mile an hour winds and we'll make land fall tomorrow night, most likely, as a very strong category 3 hurricane. some computer models making it category 4. moving and sitting here for days. not just one or two days, three, four, five days, it could stay right on through friday all the way through the day on thursday, rather on tuesday. they'll getting the rain already today. we'll see much more.

foca yellows is ten to, potentially 30 inches of rain and giving this area to the north of corpus christi up to 40 inches of rain. and it caused $9 billion worth of damage. . over the weekend into the day on monday. this is going to be a long-livered system for parts of the south. harvey impacts, major flooding expected, numerous homes will be lost and power can be out for weeks. we're estimating upwards of 300,000 people without power from corpus christi to houston all the way to west of san antonio area. this is going to be a major impact for them.
