early morning crash yesterday. they were killed on i-70 outside the frederick. they say both men were riding in the backseat of a truck when the driver lost control and hit a tree. a fourth person had only minor injuries. it's unclear why the drive lost control. just days ago they were celebrating her 19th birthday. this morning a family is planning the funeral of a young woman killed outside her own over. unique davis died saturday night, she was hit when someone began shooting along tubman place. the family held a kanelllight it service, and they told us she was an innocent bystander. >> he doesn't do nothing to nobody. >> davis's sister and man were also injured in the shooting.

police haven't released a description of who they are looking for. here's a story that already has people -- a man is blaming cough syrup for his wife's death, but he's the one who took it before stabbing her. he woke up to found his wife's body covered in blood. listen to part of his call in raleigh. >> he told that dispatcher he took too much cough medicine thursday night, hoping it would help him sleep. now he's charged with the murder of his wife. they would have celebrated their first wedding anniversary in november. protests around the country on this labor

but right now it's a category three, winds at about 120 miles an hour, this is the latest track, so it's only going to strengthen. it will hit a category 4, as the conditions are favorable for it to strengthen. nothing is breaking it up. this skirts to the north of the leeward islands, north of hispaniola, and right around cuba, and it's a hurricane category 4 hurricane. this is by saturday. right now it is way too early to tell, though we are getting a general consensus, but it's too early to tell about this track. by wednesday we'll have a better idea. please watch your social media posts, and make sure they're coming from a convince appear meteorologist or the hurricane center, because i've seen a lot of erroneous tracks out there. we're looking gut through your tuesday morning. by tuesday

purple line construction is about to shut down a popular train from bethesda and silver spring, but the folks who walk and ride the trail are not giving up. >> reporter: i'm at elm street park, it's the end of the george did not town branch trail. 3 1/2 miles that way, you would be some silver spring. folks are worried the purple line, the proposed light rail to run from prince georges and montgomery counties, will run close to the trail, and they had to shut down the trail for five years for construction. they say it's for the safety of the people who use the trail. the people who use the trail say the new reroute is just

unsafe as construction, because it goes too close for a busy roads. the sign to get to governor larry hogan to get him to stop it. they're also considering legal action, because they say they are federal laws barring irreparable harm to the trail. the purple line, if it ever gets built could be running by 2022, but if this trail is shut down, that could happen for the next five years. in bethesda, derrick ward, news4. a man is in custody accused in a brutal and bizarre killing of a temple university student. josh hubiters allege lid killed gen ever, and then move a lyft is to move her bod the body was found on his grandmother's property. she

investigation. surveillance cameras captured an suv slamming through a laud roe matt here in staten island. the driver backed up slowly, and the suv mowed down six people, three of them seriously hurt. police say a 74-year-old was behind the wheel and this was an accident. that driver has not been charged. better pay is being considered for some of the people who help teach our kids because of a new i-4 team investigates. last month they re1r50e8d a growing shortage of substitute teachers, causing school districts to scramble when the teachers call in sick. >> it's a real problem. today one of the our area's largest district is considering a change after our report. scott mcfarland explains. >> reporter: harriet sims has taught for more than
