equifax, one of the largest credit reporting agencies was a victim of a massive cyber security intrusion. 143 million people have been compromised. tom costello has more. >> reporter: the hack could go down as among the biggest ever and involving nearly half the u.s. population. credit reporting agency equifax says the data breach involved the names, doctor'ses, social security numbers and addresses for 143 million people. and 209,000 credit card numbers were stolen. it was discovered july 29th. equifax released a video statement. >> i deeply regret this incident. i apologize to every effected consumer and all of our partners. >> reporter: equifax is one of the three big kricredit reportig
