is fast rising at the airport. if you've driven down the dulles toll road or been out here to the airport, there is no way to miss the construction that is going on. there are tracks that are going into that station right now. take a look at some of the video that we have of some of the construction going on here. this has been a long time in the making. even getting the silver line off the ground was a huge project. the first phase has been open for a number of years now, but now we're talking about the second phase going from restin here to the airport and continue with two stops into loudoun county. the would, is really progressing at a big clip here. i asked the airport leaders if they think that metro should be expanding at all, and they say they'll leave that to other people to decide. remember, the airport's authority is building the metro line here. metro isn't actually building this thing, they're just going to take it over once the airport's authority completes it. guys, we are talking about an opening potentially 2020.

you'll be able to ride a metro train out here to dulles international airport. now almost 60% complete on the metro construction. 5:48. complaints about airport noise have been growing louder in our region over the past few years. now maryland's governor wants to sue the faa. governor larry hogan wrote a letter to his attorney general today requesting the lawsuit. he wants to force the faa to stop new flight paths into ragan national and bwi marshall airports. the faa changed the routes in 2014 to maximize safety and fuel efficiency, but people who live under the new routes say the noise has increased dramatically. i can only imagine how that sound is, quite jarring. 5:48. the republican push to cut your taxes heats up today. >> house speaker paul ryan and ted cruz will make the case for the cut inar

this after president trump met with a group of bipartisan lawmakers at the white house. news 4's tracie potts is live on capitol hill. where do things stand on coming up with a bill for the tax cut? >> reporter: well, they're talking but they're talking about different things right now. democrats want be to focus on health care. the president wants to focus on taxes. today he's bringing in another bipartisan group, democrats and republicans. actually, more democrats in this one. this group calls themselves the problem solvers. they're trying to figure out a way to put together tax reform, which the president wants to do, and an infrastructure bill building up our roads, bridges, other types of infrastructure in the u.s. to see if they can cooperate on that. there's a lot of talking going on. there are different parts. the president has an idea, he wants to focus on lowering coto rate tax rates. and then the democrats are focusing on health care like
