it's going to be muggy today as well. we're experiencing the humidity and that will be with us all throughout the day today and all throughout the week we're watching the tropical wave ix, we'll talk about where they're going coming up. >> thank you. any details about the double fatal crash we have been following all morning long. fairfax county police identified the two victims. they say that 26-year-old and 23-year-old died in the crash near the french restaurant last night. police say that he was driving and it appears that he tried to overcorrect the car and that's when he drove off the road and hit a tree and he broke up this morning with life threatening injuries and continue to follow up. >> we're following other deadly crashes this morning. this one happened in southeast d.c. >> take a

done here. fire officials say the crash scene we're looking at, one person dead and three others critically hurt. this horrible two vehicle crash happened around midnight around good hope road. this is over in the woodland neighborhood. we're still working to get more information about the victims involved and the cause of the crash. >> also developing this morning, working to learn more about a police chase that ended with an emergency rescue overnight. right along the d.c. maryland border. d.c. fire and ems said at least two people fell off an overpass while trying to get away from officers. this happened at 295 and eastern avenue. they tweeted out photos of using their rescue baskets to bring that person to safety. one person is in critical condition here. a third person is found hiding nearby but was not seriously hurt. they believe they were in a stolen car. >> other top stories we continue to follow, a 21-year-old man in police custody right now, this

subway attack. that's in addition to the 18-year-old that we told you about yesterday that was arrested. police raided a house in a london suburb after the arrest yesterday. now as far as the 21-year-old is concerned all we know is they're being questioned. he has not been charged or identified. the u.k.'s terror threat level still remains at critical which means another attack is believed to be imminent. >> also developing this morning more protests near st. louis. nine people arrested after taking to the streets for the second night in a row. and the acquittal of aisha small group of people refused orders by police to leave. they broke windows and threw objects at police there. >> saturday was also a day of mostly peaceful protests across washington. >> these range from pro-trump to anti-trump to this.

>> these are die hard fans of the music group called the insane clown passe. they marched on the national mall. the fans go by the nickname jugaloos but fans say they're far from that. >> protestors wanted to send a message that russia interfered with last year's presidential election and they do not want that to happen again. >> finally the so-called mother of all rallies showed their support for president trump. take a listen. >> in spite of their political views i think we should come together and common ground and try to work together and back the president a little more. might not like everything he does but at least give him a chance. >> at one pnt

the head of the new york chapter of black lives matters to the stage. the crowd applauded when he said the beauty of america is that when you see something that is broken you can mobilize to fix it. >> people all over the area are coming together to remember civil rights icon and really funny comedian dick gregory. he died at the age of 84 last month. >> in a few minutes a parade is going to get underway to celebrate his life. derrick is where that parade is going to begin. how is it looking? >> the crowd has already started to gather here. you can see mr. gregory's family there and people that knew him for his time here in d.c. and i spoke to a member of the family that said this is so appropriate. it's exactly what he would want and he's probably smiling. this is going to be a second line new orleans

know that i'm going to hurt the people closest to me that i talked to and apologized to, my wife and my kids. >> he went on to say i can do better and i will. heart never mentions an affair but said he recently made poor decisions and he would own up to them rather than allow someone to earn financial gains. >> the next step in the battle to rename jeb stewart high school will be taken this week in our area. the school is named after a confederate military leader and the community voted to rename the school. this has been in the works for about two years here. it started with students when to the fairfax school board saying the name isn't reflective of the community values. some variation of thurgood marshall. the division superintendent will vote on the name on sunday and then be presented to the school board next week and a final vote is set for october 26th.

that fog is quickly getting out of here. you said it was going to happen. >> i know. because all summer, we had a couple of humid days but nothing like it was. so we're going to be dealing with that for a little while. it will start to decrease as we go through this week. most likely after tuesday-wednesday we'll feel a little less humidity but still fairly humid this week and still fairly quite this week. however something that's not quite the tropics. let's get to our weather headlines first though. we're dealing with the fog. if you liked yesterday you'll love today. sunshine this week. with a few clouds here and there and then watching the tropics. look at the fog. it has lifted up throughout the d.c. area. we're still seeing

b -- visability is warm. mid 80s a possibility. yesterday made it to 87 degrees. our average temperature for this time of the year is 80 degrees. we also had an isolated shower here and there yesterday. same type of deal. it's going to be a great evening as we go into the evening. maybe an isolated shower. 84 degrees, partly sunny skies and a little on the humid side today. nothing showing upright now. and we'll have some sunshine around tomorrow too. low 80s for your monday as you head back to work and school. it's going to be warm and still humid but we will be dry tomorrow. here we go, hurricane jose and category one hurricane winds are 80 miles per hour with this storm. this storm is going to continue to stay off the east coast. and then we have tropical storm maria. that one should become a hu

and also tropical storm lee but watch how that weakens a little bit. i don't believe this will be a major issue. still thunderstorms but do see that disapating and then regain some strength and what i'm worried about is maria so let's go ahead. i want to track jose a little bit and then maria because that's going to be an interesting area. so jose's track will continue to move right on up. but again it will move right up along the eastern seaboard. but again by our area tuesday and wednesday. maybe a little bit of cloud cover but that's going to be about it. let me show you what's going on. 65 miles per hour. the islands from here north that also got hit with irma. here are the british and u.s. virgin islands. watch what happens. we're going to be watching that this week. rolls right along

and that's something we'll have to watch here for the east coast. maybe a little bit more cloud cover and a little bit of breeze but otherwise we're sunny. early next week we will be watching maria if it gets anywhere close to the east coast. guys. >> all right. that's a mouthful lauren. checking in right now it's going to be a big week on the world stage for president trump. >> that's right. he will be in new orleans city where he will give his first speech to the united nations general assembly. that and plenty of others. what do you expect to hear? >> it's going to be focused on north korea. continues to be the centerpiece. there's part of the pattern of kim jong un that he almost, the timing was almost designed to make sure that he was front and center at the un general assembly but i also expect him to try to dabble as many

first speech in the united nations is to make that pitch and plea for middle east peace. how much he talks about it. he's going to have a few meetings on it. i think he is going to rye to get that into that conversation. >> immigration is going to be a big topic on the show today considering what's going to happen with daca and the possible deal between the president and the democrats and could this mean we'll see an end to the steal maalemate in congr >> i don't think we fully know. is it to punish mitch mcconnell and paul ryan because they didn't follow through with what the legislative agenda they insisted on if those first 8 months. is it sending that message? try to have better relationships with democrats. and truly get tax reform done. whatever it is i do think he's happy about one thing. he felt
