look at what's causing thee delays. >> he can tell us ways to avoid the slowdowns too. adam, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, aaron. this is going to be for anyone riding on this section of the orange line. from new carrollton down to minnesota avenue, you'll be facing some pretty significant delays this morning because of single tracking going on here. everyone on this train, obviously, just kind of sitting and waiting for things to pick up. this is because of a construction-related delay with regards to concrete that's going on here. metro had an issue with concrete that was actually being poured to set in place before the rail. this could add 10 to 15 minutes to your commute. the good news is that the section of the orange line basically from vienna to stadium armour should be running normally. it's this eastern section of the system that's a bigger issue. riders we talked to seem to be taking it in stride. >> i know they're working on

the college park campus. breaking news now. another day and night of protests in st. louis. once again, they became disruptive overnight. windows smashed and people running through the streets. angie goff at the live desk with what happens after you went to bed. >> angie? >> you saah that damage there. more protests are possible today, this is after the march in st. louis. 80 people were arrested overnight in protest of a white police officer acquitted for fatally shooting a black man. a new look at the significant damage that was done to businesses and buildings. you saw some pictures there of windows shattered and you see other people taken away in handcuffs. the mayor blaming what she called agitators for the violence and said for the most part, the majority of the protesters have been peaceful. >> we do not condone this. i'm probably speaking for a lot

it's 6:14. hurricane jose is getting closer. just after irma finally leaves us, jose is now making its way close to the delmarva coast. about 200 miles off the ocean city coast. a storm watch is now in full effect as windy conditions are expected to blow through this area in the next 48 hours. >> we'll see strong winds even as it weakens. chuck bell has an update on jose now. what's the latest? >> the impacts will be a lot higher the farther you go east of the d.c. area. over the bay and out to the beaches as well. jose still a long ways away. it's a category 1 hurricane.

miles off the delmarva coast. so it will be very windy. the coastal locations could have winds up to near 40 to 50 miles per hour. tropical storm watch for southern dale wadelaware. this will be a huge problem early during the day on wednesday as potentially a category 4 storm in ports rico. they were hard hit by irma not long ago. sheena has your five-day forecast coming right now. chuck, thank you. four boston college students are okay after being attacked with acid in france. authorities say a woman at a train station attacked the students would were studying in paris and den hark. officials say the suspect is mentally ill. one victim gave a detailed account. the attacker has been arrested. we'll hear from the parents of the g

shot and killed. justin finch is in the newsroom with more on all this. justin, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, aaron. we're learning more about the 21-year-old shot in front of students. take a look at this. he had a knife and was walking towards officers who were yelling drop it. schultz even told officers to shoot. to which officers relied saying they didn't not want to hurt schultz. officers began to shoot after schultz did not comply with their order ds. schultz was taken to a hospital on sunday and died later that day. schultz's family want to know why georgia tech officers had to use deadly force at all in this case. i'm justin finch in the newsroom. now back to the studio. >> justin, thank you. i want to give a shoutout to d.c. public schools. maybe. maybe it will be turned in this morning too. >> it's been trending overnight and into this morning. we told you how t

the fog is frederick and leesburg. areas less than a mile visibility. elsewhere, we're looking pretty good. if you're walking the dog, kay needs a home. you can find them available at the rescue alliance. highs near 80 this afternoon. chance of a stray shower at best. but that would be a fairly light shower. so here's future weather. you see it here. cloudy skies today. the showers trying to make their way to this afternoon. looked as we go into tonight. what i just showed you, that is hurricane jose. it's going to stay offshore. here are the wind gusts across the area. by 6:00 a.m., mostly along the beaches. inland, winds near 15, 20 miles an hour. we go through tuesday and into wednesday. those winds gusting closer to 30 or 40 right along the coastline. inland, it will be breezy but not as windy. at the coast tomorrow, we're going to keep that rain chance in the forecast. wednesday through friday, we warm back into about the mid-830s. we'll take a closer look at the weekend forecast and what you can expect coming up.

thanks for joining us early. i'm eun yang. i'm aaron gilchrist. a lot to talk about from emmys to delays on metro. the redskins won a game. >> that was the highlight of my day. first, a check on the forecast with meteorologist chuck bell. give us good news, chuck. >> i got plenty of good news. it's going to be another mild day today. temperatures near 80 degrees this afternoon. off to a comfortable start. but a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. there is patchy fog to be dealt with. there's the view from the tower towards downtown. the top of the monument just barely obscured by the fog. the thickest fog in northern maryland. parts of western loudoun county into the shenandoah valley. future weather carries a chance of a passing shower. rain chances only 20%. not a high impact event at all. just a stray shower that shouldn't last more than five or ten minutes if you get one. mostly in the 60s. giving today a b-plus. not too much to complain about. high

chance for a few showers. sheena and i are tracking a few issues impact the different areas. let's go to mr. dave dildine for a look at the traffic. >> prince george's on route 5 just past coventry or curvy. the wreck reported along the right side. keep left and north as you head out this way. wider view, shows the recurring volume delays on the outer loop near silver spring. delays building towards annandale. in virginia, 66 -- on that trail, orange line, that late to clear track work is still single tracking from carrollton and cheverly. in the top stories, you heard about the delays on the orange line. metro says there are fewer trains today because of unforeseen construction problems from the weekend. crews need extra time to pour

get ready for metro delays this morning. orange line trains are single tracking between the new carrollton and cheverly stations. you know this is going to be a problem. the reason, construction problems over the weekend. still dealing with this. >> news 4's transportation reporter adam tuss is live at the new carrollton station for what it means for all the folks riding metro today. adam. >> reporter: good morning, aaron. this means a lot of

platform, just hanging out waiting for their train to come. we're talking about delays of 10 to 15 minutes as metro is single tracking through that area between new carrollton and cheverly. this goes down to minnesota avenue where you'll be facing delays here. take a look at the maps. you can sigh what we're dealing with here. this deals with a concrete issue that metro has with the tracks. putting the concrete underneath the tracks to keep things in place. obviously, that's a huge issue. we don't know if metro is going to have this issue resolved. we have to wait for an update this morning. regardless, some riders say they were warned about this. it was a little too late. >> i subscribe to the metro alerts. so i was warned to leave a little earlier. but i was already out the door. >> do you usually give yourself extra time with metro? >> yeah. there's a couple trains that i take to allow myself to get to work on
