you see her there. sheena parveen and molette green live this morning at cox farm in centerville. we'll have more from them in a couple of minutes. molette is already eating. i hope she brings some back. >> bring back doughnuts, molette. >> don't you worry. keeping a close eye on hurricane maria. here's a look at the tropical satellite picture. you can see that maria, a very large eye with this storm. the storm took a bit of an organizational hit as it went across the island of puerto rico about 24 hours ago. it made landfall in the southeast part of puerto rico. the interaction with the land mass disorganized the storm a little bit. now it's back over the open waters. as it gets farther from the coast of the dominican republic shall it's likely to regain strength. currently, maximum sustained winds at 115 miles per hour. so that's still a category 3 storm. it is expected to strengthen again as it goes over the very warm waters of the caribbean here. staying a major hurne

across the caribbean. we've been talking about the high winds and the flooding in parts of that island as well as it's still being battered by maria. >> you think about the entirety of puerto rico. it's a large island. 3 million plus people there. none of them have electricity. incredible amounts of water much rushing through primary streets. >> nbc's tammy leitner has the latest from san juan. >> reporter: the best way to describe what we have seen so far is utter devastation. it really is. i think a lot of the people that live in puerto rico have not been able to venture out because the roads are washed away. when they do, this is a good example of what they'll see. this building is completely destroyed. the sheet metal came toppling out, there's sheet metal from the building wrapped around trees not far away.

charged. >> reporter: aaron, the latest accuser was watching news 4 and realized she wasn't alone. that someone else came to this wisconsin avenue massage envy and she was -- she came to this business and habtamu j gebreselassie assaulted her. she came back here to the store and spoke with a manager. it's unclear what happened next. more than a week later, september 17th came that a first accuser saying he sexually assaulted her too. she spoke out right away. running from the store and calling 911. gebreselassie who was background checked, says he's done nothing wrong here.

we're following breaking news here at the live desk. we just got word that they have found another swastika on georgetown's campus. the university president put out a statement warning everyone on campus as the university was celebrating the start of rosh hashanah, they fount a swastika painted in the stall of a woman's bathroom in one of the dorms. it also came with harsh d derogatory language advocating violence against women. this is the third incident in the past few weeks. there was one painted on an elevator, another one carved into an elevator. we're getting word at georgetown that the police will work with the d.c. police to figure out who did this. back to you. chris, thank you. it is

we have an update on a story of a woman killed in a car crash on sunday in southeast d.c. >> we knew that williams was using a ride sharing service at the time of the incident. now her family is confirming that she was inside a lyft car. the ride sharing company says that their employee driver was also hurt, in addition to williams. lyft says the company is in contact with the family of the driver and are in the process of reefg reaching out to williams' family. the incident is currently under investigation. the king of beers is teaming up with ride sharing service to provide safe rides for folks in d.c. who want to enjoy a night on the town. budweiser and lyft announced free round trip rides to fight drunk driving. starting tonight, d.c. residents can go to the facebook and instagram pages to get a $20 right credit to use on the app. you have to use it between 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., thursday, friday,

hurricane maria. still a powerful category 3 storm. just north of the dominican republic now. it's going to continue to be a problem across the caribbean for a couple of days. keep that in mind if you have travel plans down there. it could seriously impact especially the southern bahamas towards the turks and caicos. there's maria now. you can tell by looking at it, this is a powerful storm. it's still a category 3 storm with 115 mile per hour sustained winds near the core of the storm. the track over time is to take it near the turks and caicos islands and heading towards tuesday next week, there's bermuda right there. somewhere between the outer banks and bermuda making that all-important recur va'a tur back into the open waters of the atlantic. we'll keep a close eye on that. temperatures in the 60s and 70s. today's high up near 88 degrees.

the entire island is without power. at least ten people were killed across the caribbean. >> nbc's gabe gutierrez is live in san juan right now with the latest there. gabe, good morning to you. >> reporter: air on and eun, good morning. it's difficult to get around san juan this morning. this is part of the reason. power lines are down throughout the island. virtually, the entire island is without power. we're starting to see some of the debris for the first time as the sun comes up. this was a siding of a building that collapsed, crushing this car. the governor has imposed a curfew overnight. the full extent of the damage is still being assessed. that's the big question. exactly how much damage did maria cause. it slammed into the island as a category 4 storm. san juan's mayor says this is going to be something that could

justin finch has more on this story. good morning. >> reporter: aaron, good morning. for weeks she kept the story to herself and then she saw that report monday on news 4. it was a story that sounded a lot like hers. also taking place at this wisconsin avenue massage envy here where her session, she says, turned into the scene of a sexual assault. now here's what she's telling police. that habtamu gebreselassie sexually assaulted her during her session. she even screamed for him to stop. said she told the massage envy manager days later. but then more than a week and change after that september 17th, that first accuser spoke out saying that gebreselassie also sexually assaulted her. she said she ran from the building calling 911. now gebreselassie who massage envy says was background chengd. he says the accusations are not true.
