problems. live from the wpot traffic center, i am rob stalberg. it is 4:30. north korea has made another threat after president trump threatened to totally destroy the country. >> kim jong-un is considering testing a hydrogen bomb. at the live desk to break down this new information. >> this is a new back and forth between the countries. this was all a little frightening when the north was threatening guam. this time around, north korea says it could test a hydrogen bomb. the foreign minister said this at the u.n. overnight. he says the test would happen in the pacific ocean and if the north does drop a bomb it would basically be in direct response to president trump who says he is still open to diplomacy. this test might actually close that door. a hydrogen bomb is hundreds of time more powerful than the bomb in hiroshima and nagasacki.

other ways countries are dealing with north korea right now. now, to a developing story that has rocked millions of families. take a look at hurricane maria. >> this destroyed a coastal down in the dominican republic. it is getting stronger as it approaches the turks and caicos and the bahamas. it left destruction and dark days in puerto rico. nearly all of the u.s. territories 3.5 million residents are without electricity, something expected to last for months. this is after maria ripped apart the island's entire power grid and cell phone service is so unreliable that some people are unable to check on their family members. >> we are desperate. i have lived here 35 years and this is too much. i haven't talked to my mom. i am trying to go to my mom's house. it is sad. >> puerto rico may be running on generators for half a year. president trump has approved a federa

puerto rico. on thursday, the president said the island was, quote, absolutely obliterated. cheers and relief after rescue workers pull an elderly woman alive from the rubble in mexico. she had been trapped for more than 36 hours after that big earthquake. it was a big boost for rescue teams that have been working on no sleep and barely any food. at least 50 people have been pulled to safety since that major quake hit on tuesday. rescue operations do continue this morning at a collapsed school. the mexican navy now saying that reports about a 12-year-old girl being trapped alive were not true. >> you remember there was this whole idea the country was rallying around fredia. right now, the officials in mexico don't know how that story started. we do know that 273 people have died and 1900 are hurt. we have an update to the startling story a lot of

facebook. a local massage therapist accused of sexually assaulting women during their appointments did show up in cord. he declined a plea agreement and is now behind bars. one of the victims says she was touched ann appropriately at this massage business on "p" street and northwest. he is at the center of these allegations. three other women say they were sexually assaulted at two massage envy locations in tenley town and buoy. massage envy says the franchise owner did a background check on the suspect. he is back in court next month. there are a few questions you can ask next time you head to a spa or massage parlor. massage trainers tell us if they have had a background check and how longe

licensed? ask for a new therapist or head to a different business if you don't feel comfortable with the answers she had just made it home from school and was unlocking the door when she was grabbed from behind. a girl was kidnapped and raped by three men earlier this month. one suspect is still on the loose. police in maryland say the victim knows her attackers from her high school. this was derrick ward in the newsroom with more on why police will be looking through everybody's cell phones to find that third suspect. derrick? there are new troubling developments. this is a case of kidnapping and assault. the victim, who is not being publicly identify, tells police she was kidnapped, gagged, cut with a knife and taken to an apartment where she was raped several times over the course of several hours. she says she recognized two of her attackers from high school. a third held her down and also recorded the attacks. police arrested 19-year-old

beefing up its review process. an 18-year-old woman fought back with everything she had to keep an attacker from sexually assaulting her in woodbridge. prince william county police say the attack happened in a park in south park port. the 18-year-old told officers the masked suspect confronted her around 4:00 a.m. she hit him. he ran away. he chased her down and forced her to the ground and took off some of her clothes. she was able to fight him off and scream for help. anyone with information is asked to call police. we now know more about a story we told you about. zaire kelly was a senior a.p. student at thurgood marshall academy. the student and track star was murdered on wednesday night. 19-year-old zaquan gillies tried to rob her at the intersection of 13
