works? the buzz surrounding prince harry and his girlfriend this weekend. news 4 at 4:00 begins with breaking news. >> and first to that breaking news this afternoon, allegations of sex abuse inside a local nursing home. >> tonight we are hearing from the elderly victim as police investigate the shocking claims. >> news 4's chris gordon joins us live from forestville with the late breaking developments. chris? >> reporter: well, pat and erika, the victim is an elderly woman here at the -- she was able to describe for her family and share with us details of the sexual assault she says she suffered here earlier this week. the family of this 83-year-old woman doesn't want her identified for fear it will cause her additional ba

she tells me a male staff member at forestville health and rehabilitation center came into her room, waking her monday morning at 4:00 a.m., to change her bed clothes. but she says he touched her in a way that was shocking to her. >> what you doing? i'm wiping you. >> reporter: i walked into forestville health and rehabilitation center seeking their side of the story. i was told to call their general counsel who tells me, we reported the allegations to police and to the state of maryland. we are conducting our own investigation, working closely with police and the family. the employee has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. the victim's nephew says she is suffering as a result of the alleged sexual misconduct. >> she doesn't feel like eating. she's crying. she's not her happy self. she's concerned. she's

she's in shock that something like this happened. >> reporter: and you're convinced that it's all because of this alleged sexual assault? >> absolutely. >> reporter: the prince george's county police say they are in the early stages of this investigation. they want to talk to the family members of the elderly woman to determine if any criminal charges will be filed against the suspended employee of this nursing home in forestville. that's the latest live in prince george's county. pat, erika, back to you. >> all right, thank you, chris. we have more breaking news that could affect health care and the wallet of every american. >> all right. senator john mccain just came out against the graham/cassidy bill that would repeal obamacare. blayne alexander has the late est from the white house. >> reporter: pat, erika, with senator john mccain coming out and saying he is against this latest gop health care effort, that now puts this bill in extreme

remember the republic kangz could only afford to lose two votes to begin with. senator mccain says he's voting no. that means every other republican on the senate has to be on board if they have any hopes of passing this. so, why is senator mccain saying he's against this? well, procedure. he's against the procedure. a bill of this magnitude should simply not be a republican bill. it should be a bipartisan bill. he said he'd be willing to support something like this measure if it had undergone a series of extensive debates and hearings and that simply was not the case here. now, you'll remember that it was senator mccain who cast the rather dramatic deciding vote during the last effort coming to the senate floor and giving a thumbs down. he said that he takes no pleasure in opposing this measure, but simply in good conscience could not volt for it. it is also notable he and lindsey graham, co-sponsor of this bill, are good friends. they hoped to bring this to the floor for a vote sometime next week. back to you. >>yn

thank you. james comey at howard university day, some students were shouting throughout the speech. news 4 scott macfarlane joins us from the live desk with with why they were so upset. >> good afternoon. james comey was the speaker at howard university's convocation, but he was immediately interrupted by demonstrators. the group chanted things like, no justice, no peace. and after 15 minutes mr. comey began speaking over the protesters. he said he appreciated their enthusiasm, but wanted a respectful conversation. a flyer distributed among students accused comey of arguing that racism is not a serious issue within policing, that his fbi surveilled black lives matters and he popularized the controversial term, the ferguson effect, the theory that rising crime is connected to police officers fears of being criticized for being too violent with criminals. the school and most of the crowd were supportive of comey we are

targeted by thieves in loudoun county, but new video captured the crime as it unfolds. bureau reporter david culver walks us through what happened first at 4:00. >> reporter: with school now starting back up, parents we know you have a lot going on. you have a lot on your plate. you have school, after school activities and so what makes this story all the more frustrating is that this happened in just a matter of seconds while one mom went in to pickup her child inside the god ard day care here, the preschool right in ashburn. you can see where the sheriff's vehicles are parked. that's where she parked. the rest caught on video. we can show you that. as her car is sitting there, she's run in, the car is closed, it's locked even. but inside the vehicle is her purse. and you see the suspect getting out of that black suv. he's trying to cover his face so clearly he knows there's a camera watching him. he looks at one suv, then turns to the other, ultimately decides to break a window,

for every 100,000 students. that's less than 1%. >> you can go to the fbi's website to find detailed crime statistics for your child's school. but you also have to keep in mind just how responsible your child is. are they trusting with their belongings, how careful are they? >> reporter: if you decide you want to insure their stuff, you have a few options. a parents homeowners policy will typically cover kids while they are living in an on-campus residence. the coverage may only apply to 10% of your limit on the contents of your home. so, if your policy covers up to $50,000, say, in losses, your students' belongings are covered up to $5,000. a renters policy will be necessary if your child lives off campus. premiums vary based on the amount of coverage needed, but are usually around 10 to $22 per month. then there is something called dorm insurance, which may be your best option.

it was a three-story factory that is completely pancake right now after that earthquake. and the search for life still continues. overnight on this very site there were two rescues. there is also a rescue in another part of mexico city about 8 miles from where we are now. that has renewed hope and life on the rescue site. you have across the country around 6,000 people from the military to the marines to rescue workers doing what president pena nieto is calling priority number one and that is saving lives. in this textile factory we are seeing people remove debris by hand, remove bars, remove beams. it still remains an active so p scene. we spoke to a doctor who tells us throughout the week he's been treating family members who have come here searching for their loved ones, searching for missing people. he's been treating them psychologically, also treating the rescue workers on-site here. and g

wisdom showed up to the fire department to meet the guys who saved him. as you can see, he was ready. he had his fire hat on and he even received a new shirt. >> it's fun. >> reporter: this morning deputy fire chief edward pearson wanted to recognize not only fire fighters, but wisdom's father who performed cpr on his son which ultimately helped to save his life. >> he was like hanging halfway out of the bathtub, top half out the tub, his feet was in the tub, arms slung over. i automatically checked for a pulse on his neck. he didn't have one. i scooped him, wrapped him in a towel, brought him into the living room, laid him on the floor, propped up his feet. >> they went inside and found young wisdom on the floor, lifeless. the crew from engine 15 quickly placed their a.d. to wisdom and began cpr. >> reporter: they say he

a 13-year-old girl is suspected of organizing the rape of someone she knew. the victim was kidnapped outside her frederick home earlier this month. two teenage boys are charged in the case. police are looking for a third person who allegedly videotaped the attack. these pieces of clothing could help solve a murder. the sweatshirt, blue shorts and rosery were worn by the victim. the man was discovered earlier this month in wheaton regional park in montgomery county. police believe he was killed sometime last december and this past march. >> a grandmother says she was sexually assaulted at the hands of her care giver. she's 83 years old and was temporarily living at the forestville health and rehabilitation center after having a stroke. that staffer is suspended while police and the nursing home conduct investigations. and the trump administration rolls back obama era rules for sexual assault on college campuses. suppte

it could be several months before people in puerto rico get their communication and their power back. millions on the storm ravaged island are now struggling to pickup the pieces after hurricane maria's direct hit. as nbc's jay gray shows us, the search for survivors isn't letting up. >> reporter: it is an island that in many places is under water right now.
