candles, balloons, messages of support and love for the people who were injured and for the people who live in las vegas in general saying they want to hold close to the message we've been seeing of vegas strong in this area. one guy i talked to, he didn't want to go on camera but he said people need praying for. that's why he was here. now we want to get to the investigation happening here. we should show you video from last night from los angeles. the girlfriend of the shooter, marilou danley, arriving at lax. she was met by fbi agents there and taken to an undisclosed location. danley may be the only person who can give investigators any information about why stephen paddock went on the shooting m rampa rampage. the sheriff said he believes we will know the motive within the next two days. i imagine they hope this woman can give them some more details. they shared a home togethe

darcy? >> reporter: well, good morning. the prince gorges county police chief is telling us he hasn't even seen the complaint yet, but he held a press conference yesterday to make sure the community knows this investigation is underway and that he is pledging full cooperation. let's show you some video. news 4 has been reporting about some incidents over the last several months. the first is a license plate on a sargeant's car that appeared to mock president obama's car. a dummy with a black face and afro was used at a training. it alleges discrimination between latinos and african-americans. he welcomes this investigation. two of the officers who filed the complaint attended the press conference yesterday. >> the reason for the complaint is that we get fair and equitable treatment to all officers, regardless of their race, you know? if you look out and you look thro

pictures from inside his hotel room at the mandalay bay. they really show you how prepared he was for the massacre. aaron, based on your reporting, these pictures are just sort of the tip of the iceberg in terms of what he did to get that room kill ready. >> reporter: yeah, chris. i'm looking at the video with you here. he had -- we saw one gun in the images we got from inside the room. there were 22 other weapons in there that we don't see. he was armed to the hilt there, and he was in a room and a space where he had several minutes to shoot down on the crowd to the concert venue. we want to bring in news 4 whose is here in las vegas right now to talk about the preparations paddock took for this massacre. jay, good morning to you. >> reporter: yeah, good morning, aaron. he had been preparing for this for quite some time. consider this. 23 weapons in that hotel room. 47 firearms overall collected by

investigators at two homes and inside that hotel room. he bought those guns at nevada, utah, and texas. inside the hotel room his war room 12 bumper stops. now those are devices you can use on a semi-automatic weapon to make it fire automatic. it's something that gun collectors and gun owners are well aware of. so it's thought that he used those to rapid fire on that crowd below the mandalay bay hotel. we know that the shooting there went on for 9 to 11 minutes. police say the most vicious part of the attack was in the first five minutes, aaron. >> reporter: jay gray live for us here in las vegas. we should note those images from inside the hotel have spurred an investigation. the sheriff furious that they were leaked. the feds are digging into steven paddock's past. here's what w

that breaking news out of los angeles international airport where marilou danley was met by fbi agents just after midnight. >> she's stephen paddock's girlfriend. the fbi says she's a person of interest. may provide some clues into what led up to the attack. danley had been in the philippines for the past few days. >> as we learn more about this shooting we're also hearing from people who experienced it firsthand. aaron gilchrist is in las vegas. we want to go back to him to tell us more about the first hand account. aaron? >> reporter: yeah, eun and chris, i talked to a florist from maryland who's here for a convention this week, and she watched this horrible scene unfold from her window on the 54th floor of her hotel down the street from the mandalay bay hotel and resort. sarah campbell is her name. she is still here and still in disbelief about what she saw unfold from that windo s

we'll show you video now of the scene that she saw. chaos on the ground as people were running for their lives literally trying to escape the bullets that were raining down on them. campbell said she saw just a swarm of police officers seeming to come from every direction and from far away and she knew something terrible was happening. >> i turned the news on and, you know, the sirens we were hearing outside, sirens we were hearing on television. it was so surreal to know that was happening and it was right outside the bins window. >> reporter: now she and other florists who are still in town for a wedding vendor's convention are doing what they can. take a look, they designed this bright bed of flowers and the greenery you see there, those are angel wings coming up out of that bed of flowers. sarah campbell says knowing what happened in that window at the mandalay bay resort hot

expelling 15 cuban diplomats from their embassy here in washington. officials believe a mysterious sonic attack has left more than 20 american diplomats in havana with some mysterious health conditions. and this morning a mother describes what happened to her son as evil and deranged. >> yeah. i've got a feeling some of you may agree. her son is on the autism spectrum, and she said some men targeted him in a very cruel scheme. look at this surveillance video. it shows one of the suspects, police say they tricked jordan pots into giving up his debit card and pin number. the suspects got away with about 600 bucks. when jordan's mother spoke to news 4, she wanted to accepted a message to those suspects. >> it's wrong. it's evil, it's sinful. you really need to repent

getting ready to take part in international walk to school day. news 4's justin finch is live. >> justin, i heard this is the place to be today. >> reporter: oh, i would say so. you know, hopefully right now the kids are stretching and getting their water, because in about a half hour or so their buses will drop them off and they'll make their way down polk avenue and on their way to classes today. this is now an eight year tradition and the students and staff here go all out. the kids waive signs all the way down the hill and into school. at the blue top basketball court it comes to a big close. bananas, water, dancing and music. i'm joined by crossing guard sheila richardson. she helps keep the walkers safe. i want to ask you with this happening, sheila, do you see drivers and the neighborhood getting more awareness to kids on their way to school each day? >> yes, they doe

as we look live at las vegas this morning, we know the investigation is still unfolding. this morning investigators are speaking with the shooter's girlfriend. >> yeah. we are going to show you some video. this is marilou danley arriving at los angeles airport last night. she is stephen paddock's girlfriend. the fbi says she is a person of interest who may provide clues into what led up to the attack. danley had been in the philippines visiting her family. fwhu this time we're hearing from her sisters who believe paddock sent her to the philippines on purpose. >> didn't even know she was going to the philippines. marilou, i found you a cheap ticket to the philippines. >> he sent her away so that he could plan what he was planning without interruption. >> so this is the first time we're hearing from someone directly connected to the girlfriend. danley and paddock lived together at a home just

her husband who were here in las vegas sunday night. they ran from that hail of bullets sunday at the concert on the strip. i spoke to her husband alex via face time. like so many people, alex hit the ground and then he thought, run. he called the scene a full stampede. his wife was struggling to keep up with him. they had no clue if or when they would be in the clear. two blocks later the strip was still in a state of chaos. alex thought get out of las vegas. the airport was closed, we know. the rasmussens never stopped moving until they were on a plane. >> we couldn't get out on a flight, i wasn't sitting around. we were going to get in a rental car and drive out of vegas, and that's exactly what we did. >> eun, they drove four hours to phoenix before they could get on a plane. they didn't want to be in las vegas. they got back to memphis, tennessee, to their four children late in the day on

concert in las vegas and doctors say they had to remove her right eye to save her life. frost grew up in ana rundle county where she was a star soccer player. she graduated in 2008. a go fund me account has been set up to help her family cover the mounting bills. there is another go fund me case set up. this is wolf. he was a youth wrestling coach and denise was also killed. she's pictured here with her husband who said denise died in his arms. i'm molette green at the live desk. just hearing about some new security procedures in las vegas. coming just two days following the massacre, want to show you a live look of the mandalay bay resort there. we have learned what some resorts are now doing to put more eyes on people

properties. there are new bag checks and metal detector inspections going on at the wynn and encore. in a statement caesar's entertainment says the company is constantly reviewing policies and procedures. barricades to improve pedestrian safety were already in the works from the shooting. they're coming later on this month. look for updates on this story on the "today" show in a few minutes. >> the other day a group of students were eating lunch when they watched one of their classmates get stabbed. two students started fighting at eleanor roosevelt high school in green belt. one of the students stabbed the other in the back and the head. >> both students are teenagers, we know. the one who was stabbed is recovering right now. green belt police charged the other with assault. >> horrible, horrible crime. the prince gorges county police department is at the center of
