d.c.'s attorney general karl racine will not go to the supreme court for an appeal. d.c.'s current conceal carry law. a three-judge found in a 2-1 decision that that policy is unconstitutional. if you try to get a concealed carry permit here in d.c., you know it's not very easy. it does require what's known as a good reason such as a fear of injury or some other good reason to move forward. that, of course, shuts out a lot of people. racine has argued that it does align. this policy with other concealed carry permit policies in other cities and states, but we're told from our sources this morning that he will not be exercising that supreme court appeal option in this case. so that does mean sometime very soon, we could see more concealed carry permits issued here in the district. we're live in northwest, i'm justin finch. back to yo

file their renewal requests. news 4's megan mcgrath is here with more on extending the program. megan, a lot of families worried about deportation. >> reporter: right. ultimately, that is potentially what we're talking about here. thousands of families are living and working in this country because of their status with daca. later today, the organization, casa, is going to file a lawsuit trying to make sure that the daca program continues. this comes after protesters marched on the white house and called for congress to intervene. now, in the meantime, a very important deadline is looming. time, frankly, is running out. some 48,000 people have not yet renewed their immigration status under the daca program. now, here are four things you need to know. first of all, that deadline for those who are eligible is today. so october 5th. you've got to get that paperwork in. the

candlelight vigil for her. denise burditus lived in virginia. she was vacationing with her husband tony and attended the music festival. they were high school sweethearts, married more than 30 years, two kids, four grandchildren. the vigil will start at 6:30 at hedgeville high school's football stadium in west virginia. take a look at these pictures aaron gilchrist took of a healing garden people set up since the shooting. he's on his way back home. but he says he's happy this uplifting story could be his last in vegas. everything provided for this healing garden you see, the trees, soil, brick pavers, all came from donations. siegfried & roy donated a tree. the idea came together monday night after the shooting. tuesday morning crews were already hard at work planting trees in the city-owned lot in that same area bullets rained down on many victims. theyav
