storm going to be, when it makes its way close to new orleans. what does that mean for our area. this will have an impact on our sunday and monday. we need some beneficial rain. >> doug, thank you. new at 11:00, a caretaker sentenced to a year in prison for abusing an elderly woman. the abuse was caught on camera. i want to warn you the video is pretty disturbing. roxanne pleaded guilty to abuse of a vulnerable adult. she hit a wheelchair bound woman with a cell phone in the face. that incident happened last december in silver springs. as she was sentenced in court today she screamed and cried and was taken away by officers. >> it's tough to watch. another case of abuse in montgomery county, this one involving a 10-year-old girl. >> an employee with an after schools program is accused of inappropriately touching her.

>> this is very disturbing, police say roy andrew simmons, otherwise known as andy at the school. admitted to inappropriately touches a 10-year-old girl. i worked for kids adventures a program here. simmons inappropriately touched her while she was separated from other students. police issued a warrant for his arrest a couple days ago. simmons turned himself in today. charged with one count of fourth degree sex offense. and one count of second degree assault. the school sent home a letter to parents stating that he was fired from the school, once officials found out about the allegation. now, it does not say when that specifically happened.

president trump was so upset the secretary of state reportedly called him a moron, he wanted to fire him until his chief of staff talked him out of it. in an nbc news exclusive, the president was furious after the story broke and vented to john kelly yesterday morning. politically the president couldn't afford to lose another cabinet official. he was late leaving for las vegas where he comforted the victims of the deadly shooting. kelly stayed behind and summoned rex tillerson and james mattis to the white house to discuss the situation. a state department spokesperson denied tillerson called the president a moron. we need to create education, jobs and innovation to take on the 21st century. >> donna edwards announces her run for prince georges county executive. she'll compete in the

scott mcfarland, news 4 i team. >> the i team did find a sharp increase in threats for federal workers at another major agency in the district. that part of the investigation tomorrow night on news 4 at 6:00. we turn to the weather now. still tracking the tropics, how is this thing looking, is it getting any closer to us? >> our impact is a good impact, i think. that's what we're going to be watching. we do need the rain. the impact for an area like new orleans. they could get hit fairly hard. once again, i have to reiterate this, this is not maria, irma or harvey. this is not going to be something that brings devastation. but we are going to have to monitor this closely. it has brought devastation into areas like nicaragua and honduras. the heavy rain, mudslides in that area. you see the area i have

you wouldn't be able to tell where the storm was. it's a very small circulation, but it is here, and it's starting to get its act together a little bit. by tomorrow, within the next 14 hours, it's expected to become a 60 mile around hour tropical storm. that's a pretty good sized tropical storm, making its way close to can tune. becoming a hurricane just south of new orleans. making its way on shore, extremely close to new orleans. the northeast quadrant many if it hits to the west, the northeast quadrant will bring in a little more water. storm surge will be an issue as well as rain. look how it moves saturday at 7:00, and 24 hours later, it's already well to the north. it's out of there, it's not going to be one that dumps a lot of rain. by monday, around the same time, it's right over our area. and that means some good news for us as

concerned. if it stays further to the north and west, it's looking like it might do that, we're going to get a lot less rain from this. we're going to see rain during the day sunday. but we're going to get a better chance of that rain with this storm on monday. now, hopefully bringing us right, we do have our fingers crossed for that about could bring us wind as well. the winds may be upwards of 30 miles per hour, that would be about it. we're hoping for that rain. temperatures tonight, really nice, 61 in manassas, 63 in hntown and a great night for the harvest moon. look at this, almost looks like a halloween moon. doesn't it? >> it does. that's cool. >> it's the first full moon after the autumnal equinox. by afternoon, nice and warm, we're going to see more clouds tomorrow, still, a nice day.
