direnso reopen the area. megan mcgrath on the scene working for you, megan. >> hey guys. well, what a difference 30 seconds could make. that last truck, the last fire truck just literally pulled off the scene here. we have fox hall road open in both directions. in fact, you'll see cars going by in the northbound. the outbound direction here. so everything has reopened. good news for commuters. this is a big route for people getting from upper northwest to downtown to the georgetown area within the last minutes. everything has reopened. we had a fire in a home in the 1600 block of fox hall. we've also learned what they believe is the cause of that fire. they say it was accidental and electrical in nature. apparently it broke out in the basement area of the home. we've got video to show you. there is a dental office in the basement of this house. it was somewhere in that area. everyone was able to get out okay. the family

in. after a judge sentenced the woman to one year in prison for abusing an elderly woman, that abuse was caught on camera. we want to warn you, this is tough video to watch. you can only see roxann bucchan-straker's hand in the video. she moments later hits the 95-year-old over the head. prosecutors say that object was a cell phone. all of this happening last december in silver spring. bucchan-straker pleaded guilty to abuse of a vulnerable adult. add another name to the race in decision 2018. former maryland congresswoman announcing her run for executive. >> we need to create jobs and innovation to take on the challenges of the 21st century. >> edwards will compete in the democratic primary next year. the field is getting more crowded. anthony

41-year-old roy iii. he's known to many here as andy. he's now accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl. now facing a charge of sexual offense as well as sexual assault. he was a para-educator here and worked with the company kids add veins turs which runs after-school programs here. on thursday afternoon, just yesterday police say he surrendered. turned himself in and confessed to inappropriately touching that 10-year-old girl. the investigation itself has been going on since may of this year. the actual incident believed to have taken place back in november of last year when that girl and simmons were away from the other students here. now, a letter did go home to parents saying that simmons had been fired. detectives believe there could be more victims out there. if you feel your child was
