more than a dozen fires are burning across the state of california. take a look at this new video. a massive wildfire burning out of control in orange county. the entire side of that mountain is on fire and quickly moving towards the highway. at least 24 homes have been destroyed and about 500 miles away in california's wine country, the numbers are more shocking. at least ten people have died and about 100 people hurt. in sonoma county, 100 people reported missing and more than 1500 buildings destroyed. simply phenomenal amount of damage. at least 20,000 people have been ordered out of their homes as fires approached. homeowners said they had a minute to gather their families and a couple belongings before heading out. nbc's jennifer bjork land explains why they're having a tough time getting a handle on the fires. >> reporter: flames russia
