tonight? >> reporter: that's right. just a short time ago we learned who that man was that was killed. his name was wayne davis. he was 63 years old and from suitland, maryland. police say davis was trying to cross this street behind me around 7:30 last night when he was hit. i spoke to one of davis' family members earlier today she told me she's very distraught. quite understandable. this is still an ongoing investigation. police are asking for your help. they are looking for a second car that was in the accident but drove away. they say that second car rear ended the first car that hit davis. the second car of not at fault in the accident, but police still want to talk to the driver. they say this is some type of sedan important,ly a buick with damage to the front end. if

you're asked to please give police a call. thank you. we got some breaking news out of hollywood where the academy board of governors has voted today to expell embattled producer harvey weinstein from the motion picture academy. there are growing allegations from hollywood actresses that weinstein sexually harassed, assaulted or raped them. through a spokesperson, he's denied any nonconsensual sex. the death toll from those california wildfires has risen to 35 people. those who have evacuated are desperately trying to find missing loved ones but as nbc news reports, stopping the fires from spreading has not been easy. >> reporter: just when firefighters were making progress in northern california, rising winds and low humidity fanned the flames of wildfires once again. saturday fire reached the edge of the town of sonoma forcing more evacuations. >> it hit
