tracking our next chance for rain. back to the news, chris. >> thank you, chuck. we're following developing story in silver spring where several families are being forced to find somewhere else to live. last night a fire damaged several units inside an apartment building on schuyler road. montgomery county fire says the tenant on the first floor was smoking a cigarette while wearing an oxygen mask. that sparked a fire. linda lopez pulled up to her building and saw all the fire trucks and smoke. she immediately started worrying about her mom inside. >> as soon as i got off the phone 911 she was already by my car. i put her in the car and drove to the other side. >> firefighters had to get help for people getting out of the building. the man who started the fire had to go to the hospital. the red cross is helping some of those displaced families. we're learning more about another fire that chopper 4 came

you can see how intense it was. the fire caused some explosions. the anne arundel county fire department said several storage containers caught fire on brockridge road near the b.w. parkway. they're not sure what caused the explosion or exactly how it started. one of our local police departments is beefing up its gang unit. the montgomery county department is spending nearly a million dollars towards that cause. john mccarthy tells news 4 they're going to root out gang activity in schools. they plan to deploy organized crime prosecutors against gang members and target the leadership. gangs were responsible for 18 homicides in the county over the past couple of years. new details and outrage this morning. a democratic congresswoman says the president was insensitive to the widow of a fallen service member. sargeant ladavid johnson

of four soldiers killed in africa last week. congresswoman fredricka wilson was with johnson's widow yesterday when his remains arrived in miami. wilson said she overheard the conversation between the president and johnson's widow and was shocked by something the president said. >> sarcastically he said, but you know he must have known what he signed up for. everyone knows when you go to war you could possibly not come back alive, but you don't remind a grieving widow of that. that's so insensitive. >> when asked about congresswoman wilson's characterization of that call a white house official says, quote, the president's conversations with the families of american heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice are, of course, private. a federal court has blocked president trump's latest travel ban. it was supposed to take effect today.

following that massive wild fire in wine country. the national guard is on the ground helping sift through the rubble of some of those burned out homes. 41 people have died. nearly 6,000 homes destroyed. 34,000 people are still under evacuation order this morning. firefighters say they are making progress getting this wild fire under control. a woman just released from captivity has been rushed to the hospital. one of our top stories this morning. joshua boyle told the associated press his wife caitlyn was taken to the hospital on monday. he didn't specify why. boyle, his wife and three children were rescued last week five years after they were abducted in afghanistan. their children were born in captivity. this morning there are more allegations of sexual harassment against the weinstein family. this time a female show runner is accusing harvey weinstein's brother bob of unwanted advances. he's the o

probably get up to about 70 degrees today. most of the outlying suburbs where you see temperatures in the 30s this morning, most of those neighborhoods will stay in the mid to upper 60s for highs today. no matter how you slice it, a cold start turns into a warm afternoon. frost advisory goes until 9:00 in the morning. inside the beltway not as much of a risk of frost here this morning. this will probably be our last morning with a widespread frost threat. i think tomorrow morning just patchy little areas of frost is going to be about it. what to wear today? yes, indeed, you'll need your warm layering this morning. jeans and planning out the day. our computer model doesn't even have a cloud in the sky for the forecast for the next couple of days. cold start. mid 50s at coffee break time at 10:00 a.m. mid 60s. upper 60ed to around 70. 70 downtown, 70 in

66 the high in gaithersburg. 67 out in the shenandoah valley. then the lights out and tomorrow morning notice nowhere near as cold. mainly in the 40s tomorrow morning. there will probably be a few spots in the rural areas that drop below 40 degrees. most of us will be in the 40s tomorrow morning. as you can see here in the next couple of days, loving the 70s on tomorrow. a lot of 70s. friday will be flawless. friday will be stupendous. here's how mild it will be over the weekend. saturday and sunday, marine corps marathon. better finish that race fast because it's going to be very warm in the low to mid 70s as early as noon or 1:00. that's the four to five hour finisher time clock on the marine corps finisher marathon. at least it will be dry. you won't be running through those puddles. nothing harder than running in water logged shoes. >> i've run a couple marathons. you want it a bit cooler than that. thank you, chuck.
