non-specific threat circulating at roosevelt high school and what students can expect as they head back to class. and you will hear from neighbors after a local couple was killed bicycling. >> two dead and another injured in a shooting in alexandria. we sent you a news alert. darcie spencer is live at the scene with what we know tonight. >> reporter: erikha, we are here on north pickett street in alexandria. the shooting spree is just down the street, as close as police are allowing us to get. it happened in all veterans park. it's still very active for this triple shooting investigation. when police arrive at 8:45 tonight, they found two victims dead and a third victim taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

more than one person? >> reporter: we obviously did ask those questions at this point. police say this was an active investigation. i was asking whether this is targeted. they're pretty early in the investigation to say that, they have the helicopter up circling different neighborhoods but at this point not able to find the gunman or motive in the case. darcy, thank you. now to prince george's county and the threat on social media suggesting not to get in school suggesting violence and it began circulating among students at roosevelt high school. and there was a letter sent to parents saying there would be an increased police presence. there was no specific threat at any spefi

covering the district tonight we learned the names of two men hit and killed on their two bicycles. saying the man suffered some sort of medical condition and blacked out yesterday and his car slammed into james walton and richard chitick. friends say they were married and richard went by greg. they were stopped at starboard bar when the car veered across. neighbors we spoke with today were stunned to learn what had happened. >> this is really unbelievable. i just -- i can't fathom it. that they're gone, i just can't believe it. >> reporter: the driver who hit the couple also took out a utility pole and crashed into a parked car. at last check, the driver

apartment and smoke detector not working lead to a deadly fire inside d.c. that started inside a first floor apartment building on 8th street northeast. we saw this boarded up home and charred debris. if you need a smoke detector, call 311. firefighters will install one and make a smoke detector for you. gunfire in a quiet neighborhood in northern virginia. now, police are looking for the person who shot this man several times and left him critically injured. it happened in fairfax county. the area is the kind of place where kids still go door-to-door to trick toor treat on hallowee. a body has been found in texas. it has not been identified and sharon matthews has not been seen in more than two w

news of alexandria where you were the first to learn about a triple shooting we sent you through a washington news app. a gunman shot and killed two people and seriously injured a third. at all veterans park on landover street, happened about 8:30 this evening. detectives say it was isolated to the park and no arrests made so far. take a look at this, an suv that smashed through a wall and injured nine people. the surveillance showed the vehicle going into reverse and crashed into the side of this restaurant without slowing down. the family was eating lunch when this happened. police are not sure why the driver did not hit the

know why the driver of a box truck slammed into a bunch of cars and jumped into a fire truck and started fighting with a firefight. it appears to know driver of that box truck jumped into the truck and started attacking this firefighter. witnesses say the driver may have been trying to steal the fire truck. police are not saying how many charges this suspect now faces. local churches praying for relief worry their community programs could be in jeopardy due to an ever increasing water bill they say isn't fair. it's a story the news4 iteam has been digging into for months. the money is for a fee for iac. it has nothing to do with how much water you use. it's paying for large underground tunnels to help keep sewage and stormwaterm
