more aware of just your surroundings. >> reporter: the woman told investigators she was jogging on this popular trail in the neighborhood about 4:30 monday evening. suddenly the man emerged from a wooded area. he grabbed her, sexually assaulted her and police say she was able to fight back, break free and then he ran away. >> i saw him walking down the street right here. >> prince george's county police walked door to door talking to homeowners, passing out flyers showing a person of interest on a bike. police sources tell me only on 4 they found the man at his house about 5:30 wednesday evening. he's not involved with the sexual assault and he's cooperating with police. while detectives continue investigating, mia hopes they catch the attacker. she wishes for brighter days. >> i just want to be safe. i want my daughter to be safe and i want all the women around here to be safe. >> reporter: if you have any information about what happen

hey guys, i'm chris lawrence. welcome back to "news4 today." boy oh, boy, thanks for bearing with us. it's a chilly start to the mornings. yong if it was the warm weather late in august. >> august? >> it felt like august. it did feel like august until a week ago. >> you have a bad case of parent brain going on. >> i do, chuck. killing my brain cells one at a time. >> into the halloween candy early. we had cloudy skies early this morning. not much in the way of a rain threat. that being said, there have been isolated spotty sprinkles across the area. mainly cloudy in d.c. 51 degrees with a northwesterly wichbltd there wind. there's a pocket of cold wichbltd it's generating cloud

sprinkle or two. one or two drops in winchester, northern parts of fauquier county and the plains. manassas and manassas park. one or two drops near quantico. as i mentioned, it won't last terribly long. here's a look at future weather. it always looks more impressive on the computer model than on radar, indicating that there could be a sprinkle or two between now and 9:00 or 10:00 this morning. thereafter, the little pocket of cold air moves away and we go back to sunshine by later in the afternoon. it's actually going to turn out to be a pretty day to be outside today. nowhere near as mild as it has been. yesterday broke our streak. we've been 70 or higher seven days in a row until yesterday. today, we will be staying mostly in the upper 50s and low 60s. as you start out this morning, certainly chilly enough. 40s to around 50 degrees right now as you plan out the day today. cloudy and a stray sprinkle or two between now and 9:00 or 10:00. back to

noon. be a chilly evening as well. by the time you get up tomorrow morning, a chance of a frost advisory now across the d.c. metro area and a freeze warning now through the northern parts of the shenandoah valley and the panhandle of west virginia. start off temperatures in the morning down within a couple of degrees of the freezing mark far north and west of town towards the city. sea level, warm, water of the potomac and the urban heat isle. warmer in town, you don't have to go far outside the beltway tomorrow before you see a serious coating of frost or a freeze as well. cold start tomorrow morning, friday afternoon, two thumbs up for your friday afternoon. temperatures up near 67 degrees. the great weather starts this weekend but it doesn't end that way at all. a likelihood of rain moving in quickly early sunday morning. some showers in the shenandoah possible by saturday evening. sunday looks ugly indeed. the only way to make

we brought you yesterday morning. montgomery county police are looking for a second robbery suspect. a man says tuesday night two men tried to rob his mother and sister outside of their silver spring home. some of the crime was captured on surveillance camera. the man was shot when he tried to intervene. the suspects hopped in their car and drove into d.c. and crashed near catholic university. d.c. police arrested one man and recovered a weapon. investigators say the suspect knew the victims and targeted them. up to two years -- after two years of meetings and intense community debates. >> today a northern virginia high school name for a confederate general will learn a new name. they will hold a vote on the name for jeb stuart high school. one possibility gaining momentum is justice high school. today, new airport security measures will take effect for every flight coming into the u.s. from a foreign
