one high school employee tells news 4 that the investigation was tainted. news 4's justin finch is live in upper marlboro is a story only on news 4. justin? >> reporter: aaron, this whistle blower does not say who they are or where they work. but in an e-mail obtained by news 4, they are telling state officials that the two years of senior records, these outside auditors asked for were not only incomplete, they were also being changed as this new and independent audit was beginning. this e-mail goes on to read in part here that most schools had not done them, finished the records so schools were calling around to other schools to get them done before you all came. the whistle blower goes on to say the entire guidance office was shut down the entire day because we needed to get our files in order before you came to the school. county school officials telling us they want to hear claims like these. >> more voices we

an apartment in reston in 1995. he moved to florida last month. fairfax county -- he will be extradited to virginia in about two weeks. 6:0e 5 now. new video. take a look at what people saw on the irs building over nights. you see the images there. they show president trump and former trump campaign chairman with the caption follow the money. the video was projected on the building by the same person who projected anti-trump messages on the trump hotel in the past. today, manafort is expected to address the federal charges against him, including conspiracy against the united states. >> he and rick gates pled not guilty on all 12 counts in the russia investigation. they were charged with conspiracy and money laundering. the indictment says they misled the government even after they joined the trump campaign in the spring of last

other big news, one of trump's former campaign advisers that he lied to the fbi. >> angie goff in the newsroom to explain what's going on with george papadopolous. >> we know that he pleaded guilty in the russia investigation. wanted to take a closer look at who this guy is and his connection to president trump. papadopolous was a foreign policy adviser to the trump campaign starting in march of 2016. according to the plea agreement, he corresponded with an overseas professor with kremlin ties. he promised him dirt on hillary clinton in the form of thousands of e-mails. the fbi interviewed papadopolous days after the inauguration and according to that plea agreement, he lied during that interview. papadopolous was arrest on july 27th. he pleaded guilty on october 5th. but the documents were kept secret until this week. the story continues to develop. aaron, back to you. >> angie,

we turn to decision 2017. we're one week out from virginia voters heading to the polls to pick a new governor. if you plan to vote by absentee ballot, today is the last day to request the ballot be mailed to you. you have until saturday for in-person absentee voting. the latest poll from quinnipiac university has ralph northam leading gillespie among likely voters. 7% vfrpt made up their minds yet. the poll has a margin of error just over 4 percentage points. today, if you have to take 95 to work, that ride is expected to get much better on your ride home. the two-mile express lane extension near the garrisonville exit is opening. the southbound ramp near exit 143 will open to traffic this afternoon. the northbound ramp will open tomorrow morning. you won't have to pay more than

she did not elaborate on who might be trying to silence her. more questions about a troubled hospital in d.c. the "washington post" reports that a patient died at united medical center after falling out of bed and pleading for help. >> in an audio recording obtained, you can hear the man screaming. the interim ceo for united medical center told the d.c. council an investigation was done and employees disciplined. this was one of many things in a long list of problems reported at president hospital. in august, its license to deliver and care for babies was suspended. questions have been raised about the private company hired to manage the hospital. it will now be up to the d.c. council will whether to renew the company's contract. this morning, we're learning more people have gotten sick from the bacterial infection linked to puppies. the cdc says 67 people have been

the charges include conspiracy against the u.s. and money laundering. both have pled not guilty. another former trump campaign adviser admitted he was in touch with russians during the campaign. >> independence auditors with the maryland state board of education will try to turn over findings in a grade tampering investigation. one prince george's county school employee tells news 4 the investigation is tainted. records have been fixed after word spread of an investigation. prince george's county ceo kevin maxwell denies the allegations. >> officials are raising questions about the incredible rescue story we heard about last week and the two women lost at sea. the coast guard says they never activated their emergency beacon. the "uss ashland" found the women about 900 miles southeast of japan. the beacon was on board. the women told the associated press they didn't use the beacon because they didn't feel they were in imminent danger. now to a story of a young woman's life cut short.

another forever changed after a 12-year-old boy jumped off an overpass on i-66 over the weekend. a driver on the road below died. her name was marisa harris. she was 22 years old. police are treating this accident as an attempted suicide. >> they're looking for answers as to why it was so easy for the boy to go over the side of that overpass. adam tuss is live along 66 with a look at what's being done about this problem. adam, what are the plans? >> reporter: the plan calls for actually taking down this overpass, eun. take a look. there's the railing right there that you can see. but there's no protective fencing on the cedar lane overpass. of course, that's where the 12-year-old fell down on to 66 below. the plans here call for a complete demolition of the cedar lane overpass. it's all part of the i-66 outside the beltway project. there are actually awe number of overpasses along this border going to be taken down. that is something that v-dot

will be working on. the start next year. this is something that's really in the near term here as far as when this bridge is going to be taken down. why didn't it have a fence all the way across? the bridge was built in 1963. and by those standards, the bridge was actually up to date. take a listen to v-dot. >> it met the standards when it was built in the '60s. so we followed the standards at the time which are constantly changing. >> reporter: what's going to happen now is when the bridge gets demolished and a new one goes in place, a new overpass. it will have another pedestrian walkway here, but it will have a fence all the way across. that's the safety upgrade coming now to this notorious overpass. guys, back to you. >> adam, thank you. a prince william county father says a group forced their way into his home and attacked his family. he's sharing his story with us

in hoepts to catch the people responsible. >> crazy. with guns, with knives. everything. unbelievable. >> prince william county police state trouble started during a road rage incident last friday in woodbridge. the suspects followed a 19-year-old man home and forced their way into the house. they attacked everyone inside. one of the suspects, we understand, a woman pulled out a gun and threatened the family. they all took off in a black honda civic with a yellow stripe on the side before police showed up. a scary situation at a local mall has police asking for your help. take a look at your tv scene. montgomery county police want to see if you can help identify the two suspects in the surveillance photos. they say a woman was followed by three masked people at the westfield wheaton mall earlier this month. the woman says she was assaulted and threatened with a gun. three people stole her wallet and took off. if you have any information contact police. house of cards is the hit show filmed here in maryland.
