the charges include conspiracy against the u.s. and money laundering. both have pled not guilty. another former trump campaign adviser admitted he was in touch with russians during the campaign. >> independence auditors with the maryland state board of education will try to turn over findings in a grade tampering investigation. one prince george's county school employee tells news 4 the investigation is tainted. records have been fixed after word spread of an investigation. prince george's county ceo kevin maxwell denies the allegations. >> officials are raising questions about the incredible rescue story we heard about last week and the two women lost at sea. the coast guard says they never activated their emergency beacon. the "uss ashland" found the women about 900 miles southeast of japan. the beacon was on board. the women told the associated press they didn't use the beacon because they didn't feel they were in imminent danger. now to a story of a young woman's life cut short.

another forever changed after a 12-year-old boy jumped off an overpass on i-66 over the weekend. a driver on the road below died. her name was marisa harris. she was 22 years old. police are treating this accident as an attempted suicide. >> they're looking for answers as to why it was so easy for the boy to go over the side of that overpass. adam tuss is live along 66 with a look at what's being done about this problem. adam, what are the plans? >> reporter: the plan calls for actually taking down this overpass, eun. take a look. there's the railing right there that you can see. but there's no protective fencing on the cedar lane overpass. of course, that's where the 12-year-old fell down on to 66 below. the plans here call for a complete demolition of the cedar lane overpass. it's all part of the i-66 outside the beltway project. there are actually awe number of overpasses along this border going to be taken down. that is something that v-dot

will be working on. the start next year. this is something that's really in the near term here as far as when this bridge is going to be taken down. why didn't it have a fence all the way across? the bridge was built in 1963. and by those standards, the bridge was actually up to date. take a listen to v-dot. >> it met the standards when it was built in the '60s. so we followed the standards at the time which are constantly changing. >> reporter: what's going to happen now is when the bridge gets demolished and a new one goes in place, a new overpass. it will have another pedestrian walkway here, but it will have a fence all the way across. that's the safety upgrade coming now to this notorious overpass. guys, back to you. >> adam, thank you. a prince william county father says a group forced their way into his home and attacked his family. he's sharing his story with us
