comfortable with those things after 12 weeks of age. >> that's way younger than i thought. so now we are talking about adopting an adult dog. if you do adopt an adult dog with shelter and it is scared what do you do? >> you want to go slowly. you can't throw it into the middle of things and expect it will get better. a scared dog will more likely get more scared and sensitized to those issues if thrown in. so you want to take it slow. keep distance and take things short. take treats with you, like chicken or it cheese, and give them to the dog that's around the things squacary but don't m them interact. >> like if a dog is scared of water don't throw in a pool. >> exactly. >> so show them things they like at the same time. >> exactly. >> what if your dog is scared of people though, that's a big one too as adults? >> yeah.
