trip to asia. insisted his presidential campaign did not collude with russia. and he said he's disappointed the justice department is not looking into democrats and in his words a lot of things. president also said he's looking forward to the trip and he expected to be successful with the focus on trade and security. is. north korea is at the top of the agenda. the president said u.s. would be enlisting the help of a lot of countries to deal with the korea crisis. whether they will be willing to work with him on trade is another question. nbc matt bradley reports. >> reporter: well, depending how you see it, you could see this trip as a dpood moment for president trump, finally separate himself from the continuing scandals in washington. or it could be a very distracting moment for the president to wade into one of the world's complex regions. of course the most important topic by far is going to be north korea. at every step along the way asian leaders are going to be waitin f

so it's a story that talks about the survivor end and the care giver end and how i became involved with longevity. >> so, susan, with you this story also deeply personal, as debbie was talking about it. you went to a doctor complaining about a sore shoulder. >> correct. >> and it was through that that they were able to detect that. tell me how that process began with you and grateful to the team of physicians that you have. >> absolutely. i actually was a weekend warrior in terms of working out. i had an injury at a gym and i went to an orthopedic surgeon to find out what i should do about it. he sent me for an mri. and in the mri there was an incidental finding of what they call a solitary nodule and that i know about it because my mother had lung cancer. so the benefit of finding it early was they were able to take it out through surgery and i didn't have to go through chemotherapy or radiation.

alexander dilly is here with rescue lives to talk about older dogs. thank you so much for being here. let's talk about this little lady here. first of all, who is this and how old is she? >> this is china and she's a mall tease and 13 years old. >> and we have to add a disclaimer. she had to have her fur shaved off because she had wild fur issues going on so shaved the fur off. it's going to grow back so don't look like your typical mall tease right now. but she is a sweetheart and she's scared of dogs. >> yeah, she is timid but friendly with everybody. her tail is tucked a lot. she has a crouched body. >> so good sign there. and you also said something interesting about dogs up to 12 weeks. what did you say about that? >> so after the age of about 12 weeks, their socialization period is done. so it's harder to expose them to

comfortable with those things after 12 weeks of age. >> that's way younger than i thought. so now we are talking about adopting an adult dog. if you do adopt an adult dog with shelter and it is scared what do you do? >> you want to go slowly. you can't throw it into the middle of things and expect it will get better. a scared dog will more likely get more scared and sensitized to those issues if thrown in. so you want to take it slow. keep distance and take things short. take treats with you, like chicken or it cheese, and give them to the dog that's around the things squacary but don't m them interact. >> like if a dog is scared of water don't throw in a pool. >> exactly. >> so show them things they like at the same time. >> exactly. >> what if your dog is scared of people though, that's a big one too as adults? >> yeah.
