megan? >> reporter: well, this is a case where police really want witnesses to come forward so they can piece together exactly what happened and figure out just how many drivers are involved in this deadly pedestrian accident. now, it happened on busy columbia pike, which you see behind me near the intersection with hillwood drive. there's a lot of traffic in the area. investigators believe that this woman, this pedestrian may have been hit by more than one vehicle. now, one driver, the driver of a minivan stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. investigators believe it there may be another vehicle involved. that driver did not stop. so they are looking for witnesses with information about all of that. it was 6:30 last night when it happened. so it was dark. the woman was apparently trying to cross the street when she was struck and killed. this time of year, of course, it gets darker earlier. so pedestrians really need to take precautions. >>
