arlingt arlington, about 2:00 in the afternoon. last night, the family got a call from detectives verifying that someone has seen her at least one in the area. that's causing them to sort of refocus the efforts where they are looking. there is a massive effort going on officially with police, they also will look at a couple of areas where they call hot spot places that she's known to frequent and near the places she's last seen. you can imagine what the family is going through. thst a ha it is a hard feeling knowing a loved one is missing. this is what her father steve tells us. >> this is the worst nightmare and i am grateful for social media and family and friends. >> reporter: family is indeed in courag encourage r

it was too upsetting for employees to stay on the job. one of the co-workers, the 22-year-old is murdered. mendez's body was found off of university boulevard, she was murdered after working a night shift. her co-worker, campos martinez is charged with second degree murder. campos martinez says the couple were involved in a relationship and confessed of beating her because she wants to break it off. >> police say mendez would walk home from work, she lives near by. campos martinez waited for her to leave kfc and they got in an argument of ending the relationship. she hit her head and appears unresponsive. medical examiner says she offered blunt force

asphyxiation. mendez left work after midnight on monday, her body was not found until friday afternoon in the dumpster area between her home and between kfc. her husband reported her missing monday morning. >> reporter: the victim was from south salvador and she's only been in the country for less than a year. she's also a mom of a 4-year-old son. the entire family is many mourning. the suspect is being held without bond. in wheaton, darci spencer, news 4 today. police are looking for a killer, a man in his mid-20s was found stabbed along bragg lane yesterday morning. the man did die at the scene. detectives think he knew his killer and there is no threat to the public. freeze.
