your monday. breaking tonight, death toll rising after the grounds collapses on the iran-iraq border, an earthquake has killed more than 140 people. news4 at 11 begins with breaking news. >> shooting a suspect in prince george's county. good evening. >> officers confronted the man on the 5200 block of newton street in bladensburg. >> what can you tell us? >> reporter: we're here on newton's street. can see it's very active and a number of police cars with their lights on. frrs it happened further up the driveway from where i'm standing. we're waiting for police to provide more information not. we don't know whether it happened in one of the apartment buildings or outside in the

police got the call after 9:00 of a man with a gun at the bladensburg condo. he confronted the police with a gun and an officer shot him in the lower body and he's taken to the hospital in critical condition. they're still trying to figure out if the suspect fired his weapon and exchanged gunfire with police. police are telling us they did recover the suspect's weapon. it is still a very active investigation. the officer who fired is on routine leave while they piece this together to figure out what it's about. darcy spencer. who also died in the shooting. >> in the distribute the people came together for lives cut short by gun violence. they made shirts to honor people killed by firearms. each shirt bears the name of a young person. >> the young people killed in this community, it's sad to know my children's friends are dying when they really shouldn't have to. >> many of the people we talked to called for stricter gun regulations to fight gun violence. we see all sorts of incredible video caught on tape. this one could have killed some children. we want you to know the kids are okay, they were not hurt here. >> it was the driver's camera that captured the incident that may have saved their lives.

the truck driver honked the horn, flashed their lights just seconds before those kids crossed the street. they had just been let off the bus when they tried to cross that road. the driver in the red truck coming in the opposite direction slams on the brakes, again, incredibly nobody in this is hurt. the incident happened over the summer and we are just now getting this video. >> glad the kids are okay. might need some new pants but they're okay. police in new york want to talk to this woman you see carrying this box, a fedex box. inside are two pricey photographs stolen from the museum of modern art valued at over $100,000. somebody took them off the wall monday and they arrived on friday and police tracked the package back to the mystery woman caught on surveillance in brooklyn. >> howid
