moved to an elementary school. one child shot and wounded at that school, another child and a woman shot and wounded in a pickup truck. officers did exchange gun fire with the suspect and they've recovered a semiautomatic rifle and two hand guns. the local sheriff's office in that area has asked the feds to come in to help with this vast investigation. one man who told the nbc station in that area this morning that or this afternoon that his roommate is among the dead says he believes his neighbor is the gunman and he says they told police that that neighbor had threatened them recently and had also been firing hundreds of rounds from large magazines. more details as we get them. back to you. >> thank you, wendy. in fact, there are two members of congress, republican and democrat right now,

who have been subject to review or not have been subject to review, but have engaged in sexual harassment. >> u.s. congresswoman jackie spear testifies in front of her own colleagues today about harassment on the hill. >> new fear of former congressional staffer says the thousands of women who work on the hill are vulnerable to sexual harassment because congress isn't policing itself. she also said congress has been a breeding ground for a hostile work environment. >> our scott macfarlane also a former congressional staffer covers the hill for us. hee he's got more on this story. >> this renewed -- congressional leaders now saying this has to be addressed. they have to change their policies because the system right now favors the powerful. the complaints take months to navigate. people who file the complaints worry they'll lose their careers. and when settlements are reached to pay the victims, the names are kept secret and it's taxpayers footing the bill, not the

player at da val high school. for the past five years or more he was a the head chef and trainer at a buffalo wild wings in fairfax county. he was shot and killed outside the family home in new carrollton last night, and today i talked to his father. his father had this message for the people responsible. >> these guys with their cold harded as self, they should come up and speak up for it because god's going to get you. and i mean that from the bottom of my heart. i don't need no camera to tell me that because, you know what, me and my wife have to bury my son next week. we've got to bury him, and i don't have an inkling what i can say to his sister, what i can say to his nephew. he's not here. >> reporter: this is what we know so far. we know that last night d.j. got a phone call. he came

count 55 absentee ballots many from military service members. the batch of ballots was discovered at the post office the morning after the election. their inclusion could have impacted the balance of power in the house of delegates. democrat josh cole narrowly trails republican bob thomas. but on a 2-1 vote, the board said it could not override state law. the ballots must be received by the close of polls on election day. the board did accept and did count 40 provisional ballots, but they did not significantly change the total in the house race. so, we are still awaiting word on whether the democrat josh cole will seek a recount. over the river and through the woods, hopefully not in thanksgiving traffic. a first look at the best and worst times to be on the road, whether you're leaving town or staying put. >> and speaking of thanksgiving, how does localery wine sound? a new option for weight watchers just in time for the holidays. and

systems. one system coming across the area helping to provide these clouds. the shower activity offshore here, but look at this. another system making its way in from the west. this is what we're going to be watching. we're going to get into some clearing skies tomorrow morning. but then right back into the cloud cover and our winds actually shift a little bit off the east and that makes things even cloudier. temperatures 51 degrees, sun early, clouds during the afternoon just like today. continued cool just like today. with no rain. just like today. hey, you guess itted, just like today. all right. you're going to get some tomorrow. difference comes on thursday. first wednesday commute, dry roads right on through the day. weather is not going to have an impact driving into work. it will be cold to start, 47 degrees, 49 by noon. 49 by 5:00. we may hit 50, 51 and back down during the afternoon. 59 on thursday, now, a good chance for some early showers. that morning rush may have some wet roads, but we're not talking a lot of rain here. afternoon, though, it gets rather windy. that's when temperatures go down, much colder on

retailers are rallying to make a comeback, going to great lengths, even shrinking their stores. earlier this year kohl's announced it is cutting square footage to focus more on digital sales, and target is opening small format stores targeting millennials and urban shoppers. shopping as we know it as headed for a change. >> we're looking for innovation, so something that brings a different wrinkle to the way the store is curated. >> fred portal advises retailseretailers on what they need to do to raise their bottom line. >> with all the options out there you need to differentiate yourself as a retailer. >> nordstrom local, a store with no merchandise, that's right, no inventory for sale. shoppers, instead, can order online and pickup their purchases the same day. the retailer says it's looking for new ways to engage with customers. so, inste

this is going to be like this, on the downside a lot more than the up side. meaning colder temperatures, and some wind. if you're one of those people that's not too fond of wind, wind will be an issue the next ten days. it will be on the breezy if not windy side here and there. now a bit of a breeze, wind out of the north at 10 miles per hoyer. temperature wise sitting at 49, dropping through the 40s right on through about 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 tonight. it's going to be a chilly night. kind of like what we saw last night. 45 rockville, camp springs, 48 degrees in manassas. honeytown 48 degrees. nothing on radar, storm team4 is dry. it will stay that way for about the next 24 hours. then we'll see a chance for shower activity during the day tomorrow. now, overnight low temperatures, going to be a little chilly tonight. we are expecting to clear out and if we do see clearing skies, right now we have plenty of cloud cover. but expecting those clouds to clear out around 11:00, 12:00 tonight. that will allow temperatures to get back to 39 in the city, but in the upper 20s, low 30s into some of the suburbs. a
