>> there were four shootings in four hours. take a look at the map here much the shootings were spread all over the city. megan mcgrath is live at police headquarters with more information on these shootings. megan? >> reporter: guys, nobody wants to hear the sound of gunfire in their neighborhood. but it happened several times last night in several areas across the district. there were four shootings in just a matter of four hours. a total of five people were shot and one of the victims, a woman, died of those injuries. the fatal shooting happened just before 7:00 last night on just street in northeast washington. a neighbor reports here about 20 or so gunshots in the alley behind an apartment building on that street. the woman was found dead on the doorstep of her building. we've learned that the woman had just moved to the neighborhood after getting a new job. now, the four shootings happened in, again, a

i tried the side door, kicked it in. smoke hit me in the face. it was just choking. wish i could have did more. >> firefighters pulled the elderly woman and her son out of the house. her son, who was also her care-giver, is in critical condition. officials are working to determine what caused that fire. in charles county, a man and his dog died yesterday after a mobile home caught fire. the fire marshal says the smoke alarm had no batteries. investigators say too many extension cords may have started this fire. they say the fire does appear to be accidental. there are shocking allegations against a number of volunteer firefighters in virginia. five shenandoah county volunteer firefighters are accused of raping a 17-year-old girl and posting it on snapchat last spring. our affiliate in richmond reports this all came to light after the mayor received reports from citizens. court records show the teen was highly intoxicated

of the alleged rape and apparently taken to three different locations. so far no one has been arrested and no charges filed. 6:06. new twist in the controversy surrounding alabama senate candidate roy moore. four new woman have come forward accusing him of making inappropriate advances. but the republican remains defiant. he's taking on mitch mcconnell on twitter writing quote, dear mitch mcconnell bring it on. mcconnell called on moore to drop out of the race. this morning, his attorney is attacking claims made by beverly nelson earlier this week. she says moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16. moore's team wants a hands writing expert to examine a yearbook nelson says moore signed. >> yearbook to determine is it genuine or is it a fraud? thank you very much. >> gloria allred is representing nelson. in a statement last night she says moore's team can examine

accusations under oath. moore denies all the accusations. this morning, actress rose mcgowan is expected to plead not guilty to drug charges in loudoun county. it's unclear whether sheila actually appear in court this morning. cocaine was discovered in her wallet at dulles airport in january. she was in town for the women's march then. her attorney says the drugs could have been planted. she's among several actresses accusing movie mogul harvey weinstein of sexual advances. max scherzer does it again. >> the nationals ace won the cy young award for another year. take a look at this. for best pitcher in the national league. he says yes! and gives his wife a kiss. scherzer joins elite company. although the nats didn't make the world series, scherzer says
