if you live north of i-66 in maryland and north of route 50 in virginia. the northern tip of our viewing area probably going to have rain showers. clouds already rolling in. beautiful view in d.c. temperatures in the 30s and 40s. you factor in the wind, we get a little wind chill. we'll be blustery through much of the day today and down right windy and blustery today. a few rain showers north. mid to upper 50s today. rain showers north of d.c. through midday. more rain expected overnight with a frontal system. we'll talk about the timing and what you can expect tonight coming up. >> thank you. all roads are back open after an officer-involved shooting. this map shows where the shooting happened last night. it was right along fort hunt road in mount vernon area of fair fox county. the suspect is in critical condition. police say one of their own officers shot at the suspect who was wanted in connection with

another crash. >> officers were not injured. despite rumors that came out on social media, the officers were not shot at. the scene is secure at this time, and there is no active threat to the community. >> the crash ended in a residential neighborhood. >> if you were following her tweets overnight, jackie benson was on scene and spoke to concerned residents. >> reporter: the vehicle believed to be the suspect's crashed at the intersection of fort hunt and alexandria in the mount vernon area. residents of the quiet neighborhood say they quickly realized something bad had happened. >> we heard a loud boom. we weren't sure what it was. could have been a gunshot or a loud crash. at that point, we were like, okay, this is just getting nuts. we locked the doors, you know. something is going on. >> reporter: at least part of the incident involved the pursuit by united states park police. it stretched down the george washington memorial parkway south of reagan national

at some point, the suspect's vehicle veered off the parkway to anderson avenue. the crash appears to happen as the suv attempted to turn right on fort hunt road. fort hunt road was closed for hours for the accident investigation. fairfax county. jackie benson, news 4. this story developing now. we're learning the baltimore police officer who happens to be a d.c. native who was killed in the line of duty may have been shot with his own gun. baltimore's police chief says all the shell casings at the scene are from detective suiter's weapon. police still looking for the shooter. investigators say he is still in maryland and may have a telltale wound. >> friends, family, acquaintances who know of somebody with a new, unexplained injury, and they're either seeking treatment

or not seeking treatment at all, or they're being treated by friends and family, that would be a -- something we really need to know about. >> this community is determined to find that shooter. in fact, they have upped a reward all the way now to $215,000. if you know anything. it's been nearly a year since a local yoga instructor was killed while on her way to christmas dinner. her friends aren't condemning her killer. instead, they want d.c. social services to help him. dwayne johnson was sentenced on friday to 30 years in prison. johnson confessed to assaulting and killing trisha mccauley last christmas. his lawyers say just before the murder, johnson was kicked out of a mental health facility because he didn't have insurance. mccauley's friends are hoping johnson can be rehabilitated in jail. >> we hope that the d.c. court system and social services system will improve its

civil rights icon is asking for your prayers after reveal heg has parkinson's disease. reverend jesse jackson said his family noticed changes three years ago. tests are confirming the neurological disorder. nearly a million folks in the u.s. have parkinson's. it causes tremors, stiffness and difficulty moving. there's no cure. students are rallying around a high schoolteacher suspended for removing a girl's hijab. on friday, students walked out of class chanting "we want saunder." a muslim student was embarrassed when the teacher took her head scarf off in class. council on islamic-american relations is representing the student, not trusting the school to properly investigate. the teacher told co-workers he thought the student was wearing a hoodie over her hijab.

8:41 on this saturday. this is something a lot of folks will be talking about on social media. >> oh, yeah. >> folk on our facebook live chiming in on this. we're talking about ryan seacrest, the talk show host and producer. he is denying misconduct allegations. in a statement to nbc news, seacrest said, in part, quote, recently, someone that worked as a wardrobe stylist for me nearly a decade ago at e news came forward with a complaint suggesting i behaved inappropriately toward her. if i made her feel anything but respected, i am truly sorry. i dispute these reckless allegations and plan to c cooperate with any inquiries that may result. he says, quote, he treats all colleagues with kindness, dignity and understanding. after tragedies at campuses across the country, ohio state university is now the latest

investigates alleged hazing and alcohol abuse. it is a move aimed at preventing future tragedies. blake mccoy reports. >> reporter: in a drastic move, ohio state is cancelling nearly all fraternity events, sending a letter to organizations, because almost one-third are already under investigation. for code of conduct violations this year. quote, this is an unacceptable high number and the university will not tolerate behavior that puts the health and safety of students at risk. student body president andrew jackson, a fraternity member himself, agrees. >> it is an opportunity for us to take a step back and look and really do a deep dive into the issues that might be happening. >> reporter: ohio state, the latest school just this fall to suspend greek life amid concerns of drinking, hazing or sexual misconduct. joining the university of michigan, florida state, louisiana state and texas state. four students have died this year while pledging

officer-involved shooting. this happened late last night along fort hunt road in the mount vernon area in fairfax county, of course. u.s. park police say one of their own shot at a suspect who was wanted in kconnection with prior crash. last check, the suspect in critical condition. none of the officers got hurt. a hazmat scare at georgetown university is all clear this morning. the picture you're looking at is from d.c. fire and exms. there was a fire in a laboratory involving unknown chemicals. three people were taken to the hospital as a precaution. this morning, a tough story, mothers, fathers, grandparents, all among those still unaccounted for after what you see there, a massive fire. it tore through a senior living center. >> this story is really devastating. so here's what happened. the flames erupted late thursday night at a senior center in west chester, pennsylvania. officials say 150 residents and staff were forced out into the frigid

27 residents were rushed to the hospital. we're talking about elderly people. some couldn't walk. as the flames spread quickly, staff members were scrambling. it was a race against time. >> you couldn't see. black smoke. i thought about getting them out. >> i was outside with the cold. oh, my god, it was coal. >> -- cold. >> makes you think of your own relatives. >> good neighbors though. >> the mayor of westchester doesn't know how many people are unaccounted for, but they're saying at this point, there are no confirmed deaths. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. there is a search for the gunman who shot and killed this rookie police officer. pennsylvania state troopers say they are trying to find whoever killed new kensington police officer brian shaw. he was conducting a traffic stop which led to some sort of chase, then shots were

shaw had been with new kensington police for less than a year. a certain conversation about a sexual abuse on social media is getting a lot of attention. six-time olympic medalist aly raisman says she was sexually abused by dr. larry nasser. she took to social media friday supporting women who may be victims of sexual abuse. in a response, team member gabby douglas wrote, dressing in a provocative way entices the wrong crowd. end quote. teammate simone biles weighed in and said, as a teammate, she expected more from douglas. >> actually, douglas went on to apologize in a follow -up tweet saying that's not exactly what she meant. 9:03. president trump taking a partisan approach to sexual assault allegations, the president caught on the campaign trail, a tape came out with him

private parts. al franken is accused of kissing and groping a woman a decade ago. roy moore is accused of sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl. we have more from capitol hill, where there appears to be a reckoning of sorts on sexual harassment. >> reporter: capitol hill rocked by allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct against senator al franken, a democrat, and republican senate candidate roy moore. moore accused by at least nine women of inappropriately touching, kissing or pursuing them. some while they were in their teens. in alabama, women coming to moore's defense, calling it an attack by liberal outsiders. >> i have found his character to be only one thing, and that is godly. >> reporter: kayla moore echoing her husband's defiance. >> he will not step down. >> reporter: and alabama's

as we continue through the week, we can clear out the rain in time for thanksgiving. especially if you're traveling. we have clear skies out there. beautiful view. but the clear skies aren't going to be here for long. we do have some clouds moving in on the way. even some portions of our area seeing a little rain right now. light showers out there on the storm team 4 radar. if you're not going to see showers today, because not everybody is going to see them today, overnight, we could have a little more rain, as well. winds are increasing gradually through the day today. it's going to be down right windy through much of the day tomorrow. we'll have gusts up to 40 miles an hour through the day tomorrow. temperatures out there right now, 47. most areas in the 40s. even down here in the shenandoah valley, front row, coming into the lower 50s at this point. also seeing some rain. again, this rain is going to stay north. if you're north of i-66 in virginia, north of route 50 in maryland, you are going to see some of these rain showers through midday. area of low pressure scoots to the north and east. then we'll start to see

early start here. we're at the rec center. you're looking at project give back. this started with six families more than 30 years ago and it's grown to what you see now. these people volunteer, collect money and buy these groceries so the folks who need them may eat. it is a cooperative effort with private organizations and the city to make sure thanksgiving and the whole holiday season is special for these folks. we spoke briefly with one of the founders. >> actually, started with six families in 1995, man. it started as an idea in the lunchroom. we were reflecting on how blessed we were. we said, man, we should do something for some families this thanksgiving, give them food or something. we passed the hat around and raised the money. we were shopping for the families. and amazingly, the next year, everybody started calling and saying, what are we doing this year? >> reporter: d
