good morning, i'm melissa ray berger. >> i'm frances rivera. we begin with breaking news. an aircraft with 11 crew and passengers crashed into the ocean southeast of okinawa, japan. while the navy did not release the type of aircraft involved, the u.s. seventh fleet said the uss ronald reagan is now conducting search and residue operations. the aircraft was flying to reagan at the time of the crash. the cause is unknown. the navy says the names of the crew and passengers are being withheld pending next of kin notification. >> this morning new fall out hitting long-time newsman charlie rose after pbs canceled the veteran journalist name sake interview show less than 48 hours after at least eight women accused rose of sexual harassment. the cancelling coming after rose was ousted from the cbs morning program. the network reporting three more women currently employed there have come forward to allege sexual harassment b

conduct. now his democratic opponent is landing punches against the former judge saying this during a campaign stop. >> i believe the women. i believe their stories have credibility and i believe them. i believe their stories. i'm not going to call names. i'm not going to label people. i believe their stories. >> he is even airing this new add with republican's own words against moore. one of the republicans that will be noticeably absent from that ad is the president. after mr. trump gave moore his implicit backing without giving his name. we go to edward lawrence in washington. ed? >> reporter: nine women are accusing moore of wrongdoing. the president seems to supports him now. now, he didn't name him by name, but the president says he stands by moore because of two reasons. one, the alternative is worst. >> i can tell you one thing for sure. we don't need

in the nation, 59% of voters believe actually the president respects women or men more than women, and there are 34% saying that the other way around, that he doesn't respect men the same as women. now, the december 12th is the special election. at stake here could be the president's agenda in the senate. frances, melissa? >> edward, thank you. >> mr. trump is also asked about two elected officials facing different accusations by women. democrat senator al franken and the longest serving house member in office, congressman john conyers. two women have accused franken of groping them. three dozen who worked with franken on snl have now come out in defense of the minnesota senator in this new letter. however, congressman conyers is getting no such defense this morning. in fact, it's just the opposite. the long-time congressman's hometown paper the detroit free press calling on him to resign following allegations of sexual misconduct. the paper writing his tenure as a member of congress must end now. conyers acknowledged he

showing a north korean soldier's harrowing escape as he defects to south korea all while being shot at. north korea violated a war armistice firing across the border at the defector. he is now recovering from his injuries in south korea. nbc's ali brings us details from london. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. that's right, the defector's dramatic escape caught on video. the footage shows regime soldiers pursuing and shooting at their fellow citizen who is hit several times as he ran for his life to freedom across the border. the video released shows them speeding to the border in a military jeep before crashing it continuing to escape on foot. soldiers from the north fire and give chase as he crosses the border. night vision images show the defector collapsed on the ground as south korean soldiers then crawl up to him and drag him to safety as north korean troops look on from the tense dividing line. the defector is now in a
