busiest shopping days of the ap. you're looking at some live pictures from the tanger outlets at national harbor where people have been shopping since it was dark out this morning. oh, goodness. the sales war between online retailers and brick and mortar stores is a growing battle. but most sales analysts say the shoppers will be the winners. nbc's jay gray is at a new jersey mall where shoppers were out dark and early today looking for those bargains. >> hey there and happy black friday from new jersey. crowds around the country brisk today as the real shopping season gets under way the day after thanksgiving. could be a very good shopping season and especially today on black friday where top retailers across the country say they are slashing prices by as much as 37% on average. the best deals it looks like today that will be on the electronic appliances a

and with the last of h a can of. a marine corps veteran and paramedic, bobbit wanted to the be a flight nurse. these pictures from his facebook page show him as a younger man. but recently, he's fallen on hard times. the philadelphia inquirer quoted a friend of his who says the north carolina native's life took an unfortunate turn because of drugs and money problems. but that friend says bobbit has a good heart. now, one man's act of kindness has unleashed a tidal wave of good will. mcclure and her boyfriend created the gofundme page setting a $10,000 goal and quickly exceeded that goal in just a few days. more than $130,000. >> no way. >> whoa. >> and counting. >> but after the donations surged into the hundreds of thousands, the page was taken down for a short time because bobbit said he didn't want to seem like he was taking advantage. >> y'all did all that?

bubbles is available adoption. he was a surrender dog. first let's talk about animal bo boar co boredom. >> you can do things like a kibble trail in the backyard. so sprinkle some kibble along and they can wind their way through the backyard and that keeps them really occupied. >> that's a great idea. >> you can do some training indoors, right? there's a lot of clicker training videos on youtube that you can look up and get the basics of how to reward your dog when they do the right thing. that will tire them out. 15 minutes of that is as good as two hours of outdoor exercise for a lot of dogs. >> and that's a lot open stimulation and they like being stimulated. it gets them going for the -- >> they're thinking. >> thinking is probably good for their brains, too. >> right. >> what about exercising your animals, especially some of

>> so if you go you want to use a back clip harness. if your pet pulls hard, you can do a front clip harness. but you don't want to walk them on a flat collar or a head collar because if they slip or fall, its can be dangerous for them. and i would say always make your pet stop at every curb if you possibly can. you know, make sure that they're not just pulling you around outside the whole time. and also, there's -- you know, there's ways to exercise your pet without going forever. and a lot of dogs that they're not used to going for really long hikes, you want to start slow and work up to it. >> okay. that will limit the injuries and stuff. especially depending on the breed, if you have an english bulldog, you don't want to try and tire it out because that can be dangerous. >> exactly. or if you have a puppy, you want to make sure they're not jumping higher than their risk level by the age of six months and higher than the elb
