especially in seattle and portland later today if you have afternoon or evening flights. as for the roads the mountain passes will be slow going. from seattle to portland it looks like mainly a rain event, but a lot of rain. on sunday still very rainy and windy. it looks very warm through the middle of the country with high temperatures running about 20 to 30 degrees above average. so if you're driving anywhere in this area, it's a windows down kind of drive. in the northeast we're looking at the possibility of some lake effect snow. that's going to kick in with the strong northwest winds. we could see gusts of 30 to 35 miles per hour. we could see some minor delays, especially in new england. possibly down through new york, la guardia, jfk. syracuse mainly because of the heavier snow bands that set up with the lake effect snow. we're looking at maybe 2 to 4 inches, but when it's the first time of the year, it makes

>> absolutely, especially when it's a holiday weekend. weathhether traveling or no lot of people will be taking time to do some shopping. this is the start of the holiday shopping season with people waking up early on black friday to take advantage of the in-store promotions that included deep discounts and free items. overall black friday went relatively smoothly all across most of the country. in alabama false reports of gunshots and shoppers scrambling and shut down the mall for a short period of time. and a small glitch for macy's saying a credit card problem gave people a longer wait time than usual. >> final numbers are not in, but if early figures are any indication, this could be the biggest yet. on black friday alone close to 115 million people were expected to head out and find those great deals in stores and online. an estimated $5 billion was spent on lean alone. online. some had outages because of the sheer number of shoppers. hoping for a bigger boost over the next few days. we do want to turn to a horrific story overseas where the death toll is climbing after an attack inside a mosque in egypt where hundreds of people were praying. at least 300 people were killed. more than two dozen of them children. the attackers got away and now there is an all out manhunt to find them. global correspondent bill nealy is in cairo this morning. what's the latest there? >> reporter: good morning. well, the death toll here in egypt is now 305. 27 of them children. truly horrific. not just the worst terror attack in egypt's modern history, but one of the worst ever in the middle east. it is a day of mourning and of military response with warplanes

terrorist targets. gunfire at a mosque, a massacre without mercy. and mayhem after egypt's terror attack. even ambulances targeted outside. inside, more than 300 people dead. murdered as they prayed. nearly all were men, but there were dozens of children among the dead and injured. more than 100 wounded. hundreds more traumatized. this morning relatives took bodies away for burial. entire families were killed after militants singled out the mosque 200 miles from cairo. a suicide bomber detonating inside the mosque, then gunmen, perhaps dozens of them opening fire both inside and out on worshippers. even by the deadly standards of the middl

foreign policy, and of course twitter. president trump, the multi-tasker. at least projecting that message from his mar-a-lago long weekend juggling urgent calls with leaders of turkey and egypt and claiming on twitter he would, quote, quickly hit the links with golf superstars tiger woods and dustin johnson. images popped on social media but the white house refused access to the press pool except for the motorcade ride. pushing his agenda, the president linked the deadly terror attack in egypt to reafirm his own hot button immigration policies. need the wall. need the ban he tweeted. the president also tried to ease u.s. tensions with turkey by telling its president in a friday phone call the u.s. would make adjustments to the military support meaning arms for kurds
