can expect. >> things are cooling down for our sunday, all courtesy of a cold front get going to pass through in the coming hours. let's get to the current temperatures right now. 52 degrees in washington. gaithersburg, how are you doing? up there 48 degrees. dulles at 44. a little farther back west, tell in the 50s. and again that frnt out to the west making its way toward us. it's going to bring us down to the 40s tomorrow. today we actually spent or day in the upper 50s for a lot of us and we even hit 60 degrees in the washington, d.c. area but we're headed to the upper 40s tomorrow. mostly sunny but of course pretty breezy. we have a warming trend on the way and i'll tuck to you about it soon. back to you, leon. three young children from the same family went missing after thanksgiving and now d.c. police say they need your help to find them. missing are 8-year-old leantony rice, leandra and 14-year-old brother andrel.

on south dakota avenue in northwest d.c. d.c. police say relatives did not report them missing until yesterday. the children may be with their mother, emily rice. people living in an apartment building in southwest d.c. are waiting in the cold, hoping to get back inside soon. firefighters evacuated their building on 3rd street after a carbon monoxide leak. news 4's darcy spencer has this urgent reminder about how critical carbon monoxide detectors are. >> reporter: we are here in the 1000 block of 3rd street in southwest washington. you can see there is still a large presence by d.c. fire and rescue. take a look over here. you can see dozens of people were evacuated from this apartment building here this afternoon. fortunately, there were working carbon monoxide detectors inside the building. at least one of them went off. d.c. fire was able to trace the fire to the basement of the building where there was some sort of issue with the boiler system. d.c. fire is inside the building right now trying to get those c.o. levels down.

high and that carbon monoxide detectors saved lives here today. >> it did save lives. take this incident right now and you have it happen in the middle of the night it could have been a lot worse outcome. >> reporter: because carbon monoxide poisoning could cause you to pass out, firefighters had to go door to door in every single apartment making shoor that everyone was okay. fortunately, no injuries have been reported in this incident. in southwest, darcy spencer, news 4. we learned today that a woman hit by a car earlier this week has died. the victim samantha iqbal of northwest d.c. died yesterday. officers say the driver of a mercedes who hit her monday night on castle place did call police and cooperate. it's unclear if the victim was in a crosswalk at the time she was hit. police are not saying if that driver is going to be charged. two people are in the hospital after their cars collided in annandale this morning. you can see how badly damaged the cars are. tow trucks had to carry them away from the scene. this happened around 7:00 a.m.

braddock road and southampton drive. police still investigating the cause of the crash. detectives say they want to know why a virginia youth pastor shot and killed his wife, daughter, and the daughter's boyfriend on thanksgiving day. police arrested christopher gatis for the strip'll murder in chester. that's just outside of richmond pfts officers found jeanette gattis and the couple's daughter candice kunze dead in the kitchen. kunze's boyfriend arndt buthorn was found dead outside. gattis is the youth pastor at grace lutheran church in chester. national news now. a big shake-up within the trump white house tonight over who is in charge of the consumer financial protection bureau. president trump tweeted earlier called the obama administration's handling of the bureau a complete disaster. but as nbc news's chris polone reports it's a separate tweet by the president on a completely different topic that has social immediate y. buzzing. >> reporter: president donald trump laying low in florida saturday. when he r

a national book award winner and professor at the university of virginia faces allegations of sexual harassment. according to the "daily progress" publication two former students came forward with these claims against creative writing professor john casey. one of the students, emma eisenberg, says casey touched her numerous times and made vulgar remarks about women. casey declined to comment but says he may respond. the university says it's investigating. sexual misconduct allegations against people in prominent positions. that's going to be a major topic tomorrow morning on "meet the press." anita hill is going to be one of chuck todd's guests at 10:30. right after news 4 today. cnn has uncovered something disturbing happening in libya. ll

>> reporter: and during that time of year when lots of dollars cross counters all over the city, the word from the district is keep it small and keep it local. derrick ward, news 4. the night before thanksgiving a new york couple was preparing to celebrate but a neighboring hunter's tragic mistake ended their plans. the hunter told investigators that he mistook a woman for a deer. the woman was out walking her dogs outside buffalo. the hunter says he saw what he thought was a deer and he fired his pistol from about 200 yards away. the victim's husband questioned@man would shoot if he wasn't sure of his target. sheriff's deputies say that he fired after sunset and that is illegal. but no charges until the d.a. reviews this case. well, it may be a massive vodka party taking place in l.a. tonight. surveillance video captured these thieves stealing more than 1,800 gallons of vodka out of a distillery on wednesday. police say the men used a saw to get inside and they say the value of all

$300,000 worth. the owner of the distillery says the men stole 90% of their holiday inventory. and there have been no arrests made yet. a young washington state girl needed help in the bathroom after she found a python in her toilet. this happened yesterday inside a seattle apartment. police and neighbors removed it and placed it in this purple bin as you see there. the python did not hurt anyone. animal rescuers came and took it. they're now waiting for someone to come and claim it. it can be tempting to sleep in during the holiday weekend, but you know dozens of loudoun county students woke up early today to spend the morning giving back. they passed out free food and coats to the homeless at franklin square park. the students say they realize they come from a privileged area, so they wanted to help those less fortunate. >> a lot of kids in high school and middle school and stuff have a lot of stuff and they don't have to worry about being homeless or not having anything to be able to provide for their families or themselves. so i

more of the kids to what was going on down here in a community that was only 30 minutes away. >> these students tell us they do this every month and they're hoping to turn it into a weekly event in the future. >> announcer: and now your storm team 4 forecast. all right. right now temperatures outside are in the low 50s and dropping. today a lot of us hit the upper 50s and low 60s. really a beautiful day out there. we're going to stay quiet overnight. some clouds will start to make their way in. but i think the bigger story is the chill that's getting ready to set in for your sunday. so here's the culprit behind that. we've got a cold front on the way. this is not a strong cold front. you don't see any extreme weather on the periphery of this front but you can kind of see that line of demarcation in the clouds versus the clear conditions. that front's going to continue to push from the west to the east crossing over and behind it that cooler air will set in place. and that's when -- it's going to be cool on sunday. temperatures on sunday expected to peak in the upper 40s, possibly an area or two could hit 50 but noticeably cooler

temp trend. we are going to be warming. so once this cold front is in and out high pressure sets up and we start to see temperatures actually move above the norm for this time of year which is around 54 degrees. tuesday and wednesday we should actually be in the low 60s. it's not just the temperatures we're talking. it's also the wind. the cold front we often get, breezy or gusty conditions, and that's what's going to set up as we head through the overnight hours. i've gone on ahead and pushed it to 6:00 a.m. take a look. we're seeing gusts in the d.c. metro area around 20 miles per hour. but you head farther west you could see upwards of 25, 27 miles an hour out toward areas like leesburg. then we move to sunday afternoon. i think that's when we're going to reach the zenith of that breeze with a wind gust reaching possibly 30 miles per hour the farther west you go in the d.c. metro area around 22 miles per hour sunday afternoon. we'll start to calm things down windwise as we head toward sunday night, but that's going to be the gist of it for you are why your sunday. '
