may have to wait a long time for answers as to what happened here. >> he did not like guns. he was concerned about others. one of his wishes was to be an organ donor. you know, that kind of man. >> reporter: charles is an attorney representing the family of bijan ghaisar. he says they are in shock at the circumstances under which the 25-year-old accountant, graduate of virginia commonwealth university, was shot on november 17th. >> i don't think there are words to describe how big the shock was because of the circumstances. like i said, it's one thing somebody goes out and is riding in a car and somebody has been drinking too much and you have an accident. okay. this was not an accident. >> reporter: a u.s. park police spokesman says officers pursued ghaisar's suv into the mt. vernon area of fairfax county after a hit and run collision on

national airport. >> we're at ft. hunt and alexandria roads. park police have fired shots. >> can you advise if there are going to be -- >> don't know. the car just drove off the road. >> reporter: the fbi is handling the investigation at the request of park police. bijan ghaisar is iranian american. the national iranian american council has released a statement offering condolences to his family. it says based on reporting, it 5i7s that ghaisar was unarmed and in his car when he was shot three times in the head which strongly suggests that the police shooting was not justified or proportionate. we hope that the fbi will provide a full and fair accounting that takes all angles into account. and we still know very little about what precipitated this shooting, what action, what threat was perceived by the officer to cause him to use deadly force.

democratic counterparts, chuck schumer and nancy pelosi said they would not attend the meeting after the president chastised them on twitter today. schumer and pelosi said they do not bleeb the president wants to make a deal. the deadline to pass the tax reform bill and avoid a government shutdown is next friday. one of the biggest concerns that could impact people in our region changes to deductions involving your property. the bottom line we're coming to an agreement between the house and senate where they could cap the property tax deductions that you can write off on your federal income tax. that cap will be set at $10,000. the current house proposal will also allow not to write off any interest on a new $500,000 mortgage. no taxes here are among the highest in the country. nationwide we could see home values drop by 15% in high income areas like ours. the boss of the consumer

least for now is nick mulvaney. a federal judge ruled today that mulvaney could keep his job. president trump appointed him over the weekend after former director richard cordray resigned by cordray appointed lea i leandra english to take over. she then sued. today protesters including senator elizabeth warren who helped start the bureau stood outside there and demanded that mulvaney resign. new tonight, an interesting twist as this special election of the u.s. senate gets closer. embattled senate candidate roy moore will get a little help on the campaign trail from steve bannon. the breitbart founder and former white house strategist, will campaign for moore in alabama next week. nine women have now accused moore of making improper advances on them as teenagers. moore denies those accuse igss and vows to stay in the race. a third woman is

john conyers of unwanted advances when she worked for him. that woman tells the detroit news in the late '90s conyers touched her inappropriately and invited her thouo share a hotel room. an attorney for conyers says the michigan congressman denies any wrongdoing. there's already an ethics investigation into allegations against conyers. tomorrow the house of representatives takes up the anti-harassment resolution that requires training for all members and staff. virginia congresswoman comstock has been behind the bill. she won't rest until, quote, we take out all the trash on capitol hill. >> i think it's important that whatever bad apples are here, that they know the law. >> comstock says she also wants major reforms in the office that

harassment settlements. a federal jury found that libyan militant abu khatella not guilty of murder. they did convict him of terrorism charges. prosecutors accused him of leading a rampage aimed at killing personnel and plundering maps and other property from the u.s. mission in benghazi. u.s. ambassador chris stevens was killed in that attack along with a state department officer. two more americans died in a mortar attack at a nearby cia complex. police say an athletic trainer who works with children allegedly sent a sexually explicit photograph to a high school student in prince george's county. carl joseph of baltimore worked with one of the girls basketball teams at the high school. he texted a photo of his full body to the victim earlier this month.

photo told a teacher. the 26-year-old worked as a volunteer and not as a prince george's county school employee. tomorrow virginia's top election official will face congress over his decision to use paper ballots instead of voting machines in this month's election. that decision may have led to voting irregularities in stafford county and fredericksburg. news 4 has learned that edgardo cortes will tell the lawmakers that he had concerns that election machines could be hacked. he will also say it was a scramble to get paper ballots ready in two months before the elections. more workers in maryland could be eligible for paid sick leave under a plan from governor larry hogan. the governor plans to submit new legislation on the first day of the next general assembly session. his plan phases in paid sick leave over three years for businesses with 25 or more employees. today he blte

tampa, florida, where the chief of police just announced an arrest of a possible serial killer who has been placed under arrest after four murders of people in one neighborhood. >> police arrested howell emmanuel donaldson iii. he's been charged with four counts of first degree murder. a tip led hem to mcdonald's where a person report that a man is in possession of a gun. four people have been shot since early october. the most recent two weeks ago. indonesia's disaster agency raised its alert to the highest level yet over a

>> they warned a major eruption is imminent. bali's airport is closed for a third straight day. geologists say ash from mt. agun is now reaching an altitude of 25,000 feet. nearly 60,000 passengers are stranded. the danger of the volcano has forced tourists to cancel excursions which in turn has affected businesses. she needed a ride but police say the uber driver who picked a woman up in prince william county kidnapped and sexually assaulted her. early saturday morning police say christian avalo held down and sexually assaulted the woman during the ride. she was trying to go from manassas to woodbridge. she managed to text a friend for help. police arrested him yesterday. he's been driving for uber for eight months and had passed a background check. uber says avalo has been removed from the app.

drones pose a serious risk to commercial flights. the faa says several universities used computers to simulate a collision between small drones and airlines in midair. researchers discovered that drones made of metal can cause more damage than a bird strike. the faa fears it's a matter of time before a drone strikes a passenger plane. some say it's a war on christmas. the archdiocese says metro is refusing to let them use a christmas ad on the back of their buses. now they're taking metro to court. the federal lawsuit says the transit agency is violating its first amendment rights over this ad. metro says their policies are clear. two years ago metro announced that it would not allow advertising that included issue oriented political, religious and advocacy advertising. other u.s. cities have faced similar controversies. tomorrow night the worldwide symbol of the holidays in
