korea. these were designed specifically for the 2018 peyeongchang winte olympics. in two weeks, they sold out in stores and online. the lopadded coats became the "" item after getting great reviews. it's not clear when the $135 coat will be in stock again. speaking of which, we are a little over two months away from winter olympics in pyeongchang, south korea. people are making plans to see the thrilling games and also experiencing the korean culture. we have you covered. news 4 visited the country a few months ago to give us a preview of all the excitement. this morning, we go to a famous house in seoul that specializes in designing clothing. take a look. >> reporter: the details exquisite. this is the traditional dress of korea. it's a full dress and

jack jacket. men's version have pants. koreans wore them daily before, but now they're for special occasions. this is the designer in seoul. people come from around the world to see the shop's ka craftsmanship up close. there are no visible seams on the finished outfit. every detail is hand sewn. even a simple design can take months to complete. she shows she how to choose one, starting with the selection of the best color combinations, to strike the right balance and tone for the season and occasion. she explains if you choose a vibrant skirt, you have to match it with a softer color jacket. you can add special features such as embroidery or beading. the possibilities are endless. customers benefit from her expert eye. now, i get to play dress up and try on some of her famous designs. for an exact fit,

measurements. because the skirt is so full, she toe kfocuses on the top hal including the length of my shoulders and arms. the first one i try on has a dark beaded jacket with a silver pleaded skirt. it's one you can wear to an evening affair. the fabric is heavier, so it is best worn during the fall or winter. she swaps out the midnight top for a bright pink one. the jacket has a bell-shaped design that falls over the skirt. this one is better suited for spring or summer. she says a lot of handiwork went into making this particular top because of the extra beading and fabric. the next one is a special design. it was created for a popular korean drama where the lead actress wore it for an important scene. it has iridescent fabric and embroidery, plus a unique layered skirt. it was modelled after what

macy's is planning on hiring an extra 7,000 seasonal workers after a strong start to the holidays. earlier this fall, macy's said they were cutting back with seasonal hires, only bringing on about 80,000 nationally. but with more people shopping, there is a need for more workers. so macy's decided to hire more posts. most of the jobs are part-time. nativity scenes are at the heart of many of our christmas celebrations. check this one out. this is out of france. a city in the southern part of the country is creating one with 3,500 figurines. it hopes to get into the guinness world record book with this. each figurine is made painted b hand. it represents daily life in france's villages. >> that's cool. the officials would have to go there to make sure it is actually a world record. it looks like it. >> i would just say, yeah, that's about 3,500.

what gave quincy jones the inspiration to learn music? >> i didn't have a mother, i didn't have a mother. straight jacket when i was 7 years old. it freaks you out. >> reporter: he said mastering music nurtured his spirit. >> if i don't have a mother, i'll let music be my mother. it never let me down. never. >> reporter: did he ever feel there were limits to where he could go as a black kid in the '30s and '40s? >> i never thought about that. i just kept going. >> reporter: he says he just wanted to be the best at whatever he did. even as a shoe shine boy at 11. >> i wanted to be the best shoe shiner dude that ever lived. >> reporter: he started his music career before finishing high school. >> when i was 15, lionel hampton asked me to join his band. >> reporter: he was only 15. >> he said, get off the bus and get an education. i'll get back to you later. oh, i was

program shifts to fairfax presbyterian church. 40 churches participate in the effort. united methodist church kicked off the program this week. though the nights are cold, they're not bitter cold yet. when the temperatures drop lower, the program supports two churches each week to accommodate a greater number of guests. the guests are given warm places to sleep, dinner and breakfast in the morning and offered ak activities in the evening. >> we're meeting basic needs and providing the meal, then it is an avenue to connect with fairfax county health department. >> and that connection to services is paying off. >> the last year, we saw 279 people throughout the whole season. 35 of those folks were in permanent housing by the end of the season. >> the number of people taking part in the program is growing. but it may not be who you might think. >> one of the eye of openers for
