back to you. chris, thank you. it's now 6:03. we're following developing story this morning. montgomery county police are investigating how a 17-year-old ended up dead in the woods in bethesda. >> the teen was a student at walt whitman high school in bethesda. justin finch is there now. justin, what happened? >> reporter: aaron, you just know this is going to be a hard monday for students and staff here at walt whitman high. after learning that one of their own, sepehri was found dead over the weekend. we know that psychologists will be on hand to help. let's give you a sense of where it's happening. he was found dead off the 6500 block of laverock lane near the bannockburn swim club. we know that montgomery county police are continuing to investigate. campuswide alert yesterday, the principal announced

was reported missing two days ago. his family was concerned after he didn't come home on saturday night. the principal also saying he has a younger sister who is also a freshman here at whitman high school. concern for her as well. we know, too, an autopsy will determine sepehri's official cause of death. all of this remains under investigation still at this time. we're live here in bethesda, i'm justin finch. news 4. back to you in the studio. justin, thank you. now to new video showing the response to an apartment fire in d.c.'s logan circle. residents were forced out into the cold last night after an accidental fire started near a gas fireplace. this was near r and 13th street. three people and their pets are now without a home. no one was injured. a first of its kind trial will begin today in alexandria. jury selection will begin this afternoon in the case against nicholas young. he's

charged with a terrorism offense. young was a police officer for metro when he was arrested last year in a government sting. prosecutors say young tried to help isis by buying nearly $250 in gift cards. a massage therapist accused of assaulting several women in our area is expected in court today. he worked for massage envy and is charged with improperly touching two women in northwest d.c. he is also being investigated in cases in bowie and georgetown. one of the d.c. cases has also sparked a legal case against massage envy. one of the alleged victims is suing the company for $25 million. developing this morning, several women will accuse president trump of sexual misconduct on megyn kelly today. the sit down will air at 9:00 a.m. here on nbc4. the accusers will share their firsthand accounts during a news conference today. they're calling on congress to in

booker has died. he was the first full-time black reporter on the post. he served as the washington bureau chief for the company that owned jet and ebony magazine. booker was inducted into the national association of black journalists hall of fame in 2013. he was 99 years old much. this morning, there are plans for a new homeless shelter in the columbia heights section of d.c. mayor bowser announced last week he would be on 14th street. now, our news partner, wtop reports it will have enough space for short term apartment-style units and 15 long-term units. they will provide units for low-income seniors. work is expected to start in early 2019 and be completed by the spring of 2020. there are some big new plans for the fannie may headquarters. current newspapers reports that the preservation review board voted to make it a historic

a restaurant. adam tuss is live there now with more. adam what, are you seeing? >> reporter: we just got to the scene this morning, eun. fire crews are actually out here this morning. the sheriff's office is trying to put the pieces together of what exactly happened here. this is a real rural section of loudoun county. you mentioned that restaurant that's close by. it's also close to the point of rocks bridge. if you know where that is. kind of farther up between montgomery and loudoun counties. investigators are out here trying to figure out what happened. there's a thick smell of smoke. clearly, this is an incident fairly fresh. we're talking about 8:20 last night that this fire broke out here along this road on taylors town road. officials in loudoun county are able to confirm to us that this is, indeed, a fatal fire. so that is obviously that's going to require some extensive investigating to see what exactly happened. how it all started. we've also been able to learn this morning from talki

still on the move. it's burned 230,000 acres so far. it's only 10% contained. it's reached santa barbara counties well. it's forced 5,000 residents to evacuate. that fire started one week ago today. talk show host and comedian ellen degeneres among the celebrities who had to evacuate due to the wildfires in southern california. degeneres tweeted on sunday that her house could be burned. 6:35 our time right now. cleaning your chimney may be one of the last things you think about during the holiday season. >> it probably could have saved a home in prince george's county. flames ripped through this house on bremer circle in washington. a missing brick in the chimney allowed the fire to spread. news 4 spoke with a local chimney company and says a yearly inspection would have likely prevented the fire. the fire you're looking at caused about $200,000 in damages.

out to voters today. still very close race here with largely unreliable polling. it could go either way. as you mentioned, one of the women claims she dated roy moore back when she was a teenager in 1981. she claims she was 17 and he was 34. she met him when he came to speak at her high school. she's now telling nbc news, in her first broadcast interview since coming forward to the "washington post," president trump's endorsement is misguided and says that roy moore is unfit for office. this all comes in the final stretches of the campaign where prominent republicans have broken ranks with the president. senator richard shelby and senior senator from alabama saying he voted for an unnamed write-in candidate and alabama deserves better than roy moore. it's a very unusual last stretch of the campaign. the democrat in the race, doug jones had a busy campaign day. five events. moore has not had a public event since tuesday. he does have a rally, though, planned tonight with former
