details. jackie whax have you learned so far? >> reporter: this is still an unfolding scene here but i'm going to tell you what i do know. montgomery county police were called here about 8:45 tonight. i think we have some video of what it looked like here earlier. they were called here we understand for a report of an assault. when they arrived, they found two people and those two people's deaths are being investigated in what is referred to or what we've been told is described only as a death investigation right now. now, the scene of this investigation is inside is this high-rise on fenwick lane. we're not far from georgia avenue in silver spring. there were a number of patrol officers here earlier. now at this point it's pretty much down to a couple of detectives' vehicles as montgomery county police try and figure out exactly what happened inside this building tonight

people. live in silver spring, jackie bensen, news 4. >> thank you, jackie. some very light snow falling tonight in parts of our region. this is what it looked like in southeast washington tonight around 6:30. you can just make out a few flurries there. but we know it was heavier to the north. >> one good thing we can tell from that video, doug, the wind has died down. compared to last night this feels a whole lot warmer. >> and the wind we're getting right now is helping produce warmer temperatures. temperatures have gone up a degree. we are the warmest we've been all day sitting at 36 degrees, but we have had some snow coming through parts of the region. the amazing thing about this was with this storm system it made its way over the mountains and kind of leapt to the east. we see this all the time with systems that move to the north. if you were north and east of washington you saw a lot more snow out of the system south and westward you didn't see much at all. there's the system continuing to move on through. here's what's left. north and east once again still seeing some snow around baltimore.

frederick county, parts of the hagerstown and martinsburg areas. these locations do have some snow on some area roadways. tomorrow morning make sure you give yourself plenty of extra time. to the south we have not seen any snow at all other than just some flurries. we're going to talk much more about what happens when the storm exits the region by this time tomorrow morning and what it means for your thursday, your friday and of course your weekend. >> doug, thank you. new at 11:00 tonight, pbs has now suspended the late-night talk show tavis smiley over allegations of misconduct after an independent investigation into more than one complaint. the network has now hired an outside law firm to investigate smiley. it comes just weeks after the network dismissed charlie rose. a pbs representative declined to specify the nature of the allegations against smiley, but in a statement pbs said, "the inquiry uncovered multiple credible allegations of misconduct that is inconsistent with the vue

pbs." smiley has hosted the talk show since 2004. so far no comment from him. >> tavis smiley the latest man in power to be accused in a movement that started with women who refeuds to be silent about hollywood movie mogul harvey weinstein. today another accuser came forward. oscar-nominated actress salma hayek penned an op-ed in the "new york times." hayek says weinstein threatened to kill her after she repeatedly refused his sexual advances. she writes that he forced her to get fully nude and perform a sex act with another woman in the movie "frida" as retaliation for rejecting him. weinstein's spokesperson says he does not recall pressuring hayek to do a gratuitous sex scene and says hayek herself choreographed the sex scene in the movie. >> meanwhile, two house democrats won a sexual harassment investigation of president trump. joe crowley and jackie speier sent a letter to the office of

for an examination of the sexual misconduct claims against the president from at least 19 women. in the letter the lawmakers say americans expect the president and other public officials to set the highest standard for professional behavior. new at 11:00, surveillance video shows three men who police believe are responsible for a string of seven burglaries in the past two weeks, and in one case they used a church van as their getaway vehicle. news 4's shomari stone is live in northwest d.c. shomari, police need help finding these guys, don't they? >> yes, they do. and that's why police are releasing this surveillance video, doreen. the latest burglary occurred here at benson's jewelers. a lot of people go to this grocery store and it happened this morning. but what's even more disturbing is that people cannot believe that these burglars stole a church van. >> it's disheartening. >> reporter: gregory armstrong

young's memorial church of christ in southeast d.c. he's upset that someone stole the church's van and used it in a burglary. >> our prayers are that the person will have some remorse about what they have done. >> reporter: take a look. surveillance video captured three men pulling up in the stolen church van on the 1000 block of h street northwest. around 5:00 in the morning last tuesday. they broke in the front glass door, stole clothes, and got away. >> we're hopeful that the public can assist us in identifying these suspects. >> reporter: police believe the men are responsible for breaking and stealing from seven retail stores in d.c. and maryland since december 1st. 3:15 this morning a surveillance camera captured a guy breaking into benson's jewelers on the 1300 block of f street northwest. he walked across the room to a display case, grabbed jewelriry, and climbed back out the shattered window. he also drove away in a rk

government. the federal communications commission will vote to repeal most of the agency's net neutrality rules. it means your internet provider could give preferential treatment to certain content and charge you more for basic service. the rules approved in 2015 were intended to keep the internet open and fair. they bar internet providers from speeding up or slowing down traffic to certain websites and apps. tomorrow fcc vote could change all of that. >> it's not going to be the end of the world immediately but it definitely opens the door to a lot of things we might not want to deal with. they can't just go to somebody else for better service if they don't like the service they're getting now. zplt republican-controlled fcc is expected to pass the repeal 3-2 along party lines. net neutrality supporters say they will take their fight to court. news 4's working for you to make sure you know about a particular kind of vehicle that thieves are targeting. and now they're even stealing the doors from some honda vehicles. police tell us they're

these roads are snow covered. looking out right now. definitely seeing? accumulation, half inch to an inch of accumulation. to the south you barely saw any flakes at all. here's the storm system itself continuing to move on through the region. it's going to bring places like philadelphia and new york some snow, but for us it's just about done and it's just about out of here. what it will be, though, is bringing more in the way of wind. right now 36 miles per hour -- or 36 degrees with 15-mile-an-hour winds. the winds are starting to kick up again, and they will do so as this storm system moves through. tomorrow morning waking up to those wind chills in the teens and low 20s. current temperature 34 d.c., 33 in manassas. 27 in martinsburg. current wind chill 27 degrees. the storm as i mentioned is only going to be bringing in cold air once again behind it. so tomorrow and friday are both going to be cold afternoons. what do we mean? here's the wind chill tomorrow morning. 29 d.c. 27 in gaithersburg. way warmer than we were earlier this m

1:00. we don't move much. 28 gaithersburg, 22 in manassas. it's going to be a fairly chilly day for lunch and it's going to stay that way all day. the tepz only cool as we head into the evening. by 7:00 wind chill 15 martinsburg 23 degrees in washingt washington. 29 at the bus stop, cold for the kids, breezy and chilly at recess, once again probably the kids staying indoors for recess and breezy again as we make our way through the afternoon. next couple of days still cold on friday with more cloud cover and a chance for flurries, not expecting much. 45 degrees on your saturday. rather breezy on saturday. sunday high of 47. then we've got a chance for some showers. we're tracking those monday and tuesday but not a very strong system at all. but at least it does try to bring temperatures back into the low 50s before they come right back out. as we make our way toward the middle of the week. >> looks like we can switch from the giant coat to the medium puffy coat. >> take some air out of the puffy coat.
