we're here at the d.c. department of public works storm team 4 command center. the employees will be looking at these monitors. there are nine of them. if you notice, they'll sometimes go to black and what they are doing, this is realtime live video from major intersections throughout the district. for example, we have florida avenue, bening road, pennsylvania avenue, first street and potomac avenue southeast. around 8:00, that is when the snow table will send out the trucks to pretreat the roads with salt brine and then 200 trucks will be deployed. if you're out and about, stay away. give these guys and women working out there time and room so that they can get t

i want to show the timing of the snow as it moves on in. as we move in tomorrow morning, 1:00, the snow moves in. around 5:00, you can see the snow come in between 1 and 5:00. still snowing between the i-95 corridor to the east. look at that sharp cutoff. leesburg, nothing across the river around gaithersburg and it could accumulate in that region and moves out by 8:00 and then it just gets plain cold and windy. how much snow where you live? less than an inch. prince george's county, down towards charles county, 2 to 4 down to the south and a little more as you head out towards the eastern shore and around ocean city, 4 to 8 inches there. and now turning frigid, 28 degrees early and

temperatures quickly down into the single digits. windchills in the 10 to 15 to 20 below zero range friday morning and saturday morning. that's why we have dangerous cold. we could see schools delayed on friday morning due to the fact that we're so cold and then tracking another storm system on monday. that one could give us ice. we'll talk much more about that in the next couple of days. right now it's all about the next 72 hours. well, when it gets this cold, groups that help the homeless work overtime and mark segraves drove around in the hypothermia van. >> reporter: you can find them on our street corners and if you look, you'll see them huddled under the bridges during these dangerously cold

for the past 16 years, he's been driving one of the hypothermia vans for a local nonprofit. if they let him, bones will drive them to a shelter. and bones has been working double shifts every day for the past week as have scores of others who take care of the less fortunate during these frigid days and nights. >> that could be me. i hope somebody will do that for me that i have for them. >> over the past week, the hypothermia vans have transported nearly 4,000 homeless to day centers. they can get hot meals, clothes, see a doctor, do laundry and take a

buckley kuhn-fricker. according to documents, blood stains were found on several doors and walls, bullet fragments and holes in a ceiling in the hallway and numerous shell casings and items like a hammer and a knife also found on the scene. now, at the suspect's home, police also found gun parts, ammo and a gun box. the teen suspect whose name has not been released remains hospitalized in critical condition after police say he turned the gun on himself. no charges have been announced.

judge's ruling. still missing is witt black. september 2016, the popular local musician found dead after a heroin overdose in a hotel. his family and friends say he had never done the drug before and that it was heather timber, his friend of more than ten years, who introduced it to him that night. prosecutors played surveillance video in court from that evening. it showed black struggling alone for more than 40 minutes. >> it was very critical watching the last 40 minutes of my brother's life and seeing him so unresponsive in a stairwell and watching the defendant, you know, do nothing. >> reporter: for prosecutors here in loudoun county, this goes beyond punishment for one individual. it's about sending a very clear message to the community about not spreading the disease of addiction. >> individuals absolutely need to seek help and we need to support people that are seeking help. but we do need to send a message to the people spreading the

inch in most of our western zones, west of i-95 and east of an inch i-95. it's going to be a bigger issue as you head out towards the eastern shore. blizzard warnings in effect for rehoboth and ocean city. timingwise, starting around 3:00, 4:00, everybody is seeing snow but nothing back towards the west. and you won't see anything from this storm. it's all towards the east and out around 8:00. what about the roads? they could be a big-time problem even with a coating of ice or snow. they are very slick for the morning commute. some slickness even tomorrow night and into friday morning because the temperatures will be so low that the snow is not going anywhere fast. that's going to lead to delays and cancellations. fauquier county, a delay because of snow. calvert county also, a two-hour delay. >> right now we're doing our school delay

you can see calvert could become canceled and prince george's and parts of stafford and king george county as well. we head to the west, arlington, alexandria, fairfax, prince william, fauquier, montgomery, carol county, howard county. delays here are possible. areas like washington county, panhandle of west virginia, count on school being open. definitely want to do the homework if your county is in green. so you have a good chance of a delay, if not a cancellation on friday morning because look at these brutal feels-like temperatures at 6:00 a.m. feeling about 15 degrees below in martinsburg and even 7 degrees below zero in the district on friday morning. as we head into the wen
