water and mud coating the streets. montgomery police blocked off the area until the issue is fixed. no word how long it will take to fix. college park, an 80-year-old water main broke and caused this traffic issue. reporting only one left lane is getting by at cherry hill road. this one of four water main breaks along the same line in recent days. wssd says it's mostly due to the older aging water mains. you can find the latest traffic issues in weather alert report in the nbc washington app. a disturbing find inside a car in montgomery county. police got the call after someone spotted a body inside. the car parked on thayer avenue in silver spring. the man's name has not been released. police are saying they do

the falcon 9 took off at 9:00 and they made the code name zuma. but they won't say which agency it was made for. tens of thousands of wild horses are running free in the united states. hard to believe, right? we get an inside look at a program in colorado that's supposed to deal with the horses but it's helping people as well. >> by looks of this spread, someone has put together quite a ranch. a big outfit up in the colorado rockies near canyon city. inside the corrals are wild horses that, until a few months ago, were literally running free on the open range. here they're gently turned into working stock. >> if i can control those back end, i can control the horse. >> he is the trainer.

not much sunshine coming your way for today. the milder weather really isn't so far away. but we've been stuck in the icebox for so long that even a little chance for light rain coming our way later today could be problematic. as a result, there is a winter weather advisory posted for all the shaded counties here. anne arundel, prince george's, arlington, fairfax, montgomery, the districts and all the points north and west of there up to the blue ridge and the shenandoah valley. the advisories, there's different timing on them. but they start across the northern and western parts of the viewing area around 1:00 this afternoon and continue until 9:00 tonight. the main threat is a little bit of a wintry mix primarily for me, anyway, i think the main concern is freezing rain. we're not looking for a lot of rain, but looking at how low the temperatures remain, upper teens to only around 20 degrees right now. more than cold enough so that

first, the cold temperatures causing school delays and closings. >> marlton elementary school will be closed because the heating isn't working. in virginia, spotsylvania and page county schools are closed. jefferson county schools in west virginia are closed. fredericksburg city and stafford county schools will open two hours late. >> let's get a first look at the forecast from chuck bell. >> it's all about the persistence of the extreme cold have only been above 30 degrees for a few hours over the last week. in fact, we've been below 35 degrees now for so long, it's the longest such stretch of cold weather since 1961. it has been a while since we've been this frozen for this long. as a result, with the ground frozen absolutely solid and a little chance for light rain coming in, going to have a winter weather advisory today from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
